What is the Hi-Res stuff? It's a resolution mode the SNES/SFC can pull off to produce higher resolution images than it normally does. Most SNES/SFC games used 256x224 pixels since higher resolutions cause slowdown, flicker, and limitations on layers and colors (due to memory bandwidth constraints); the higher resolutions (512x478 max) were for less processor-intensive stuff like in-game menus, text boxes, and static background images. Edit: Here's a video...

Fascinating. I like how he used Secret of Mana's main menu as an example at the end there, since I was noticing the weird blurriness at that exact screen too. Kind of weird I just noticed this... been using snes9x mainly for the last few years again. Maybe all the other games I played didn't have this issue with snes9x or I somehow didn't notice, but I can be pretty peculiar when things feel off. Guess there's bound to be some potential issues with emulators when the hardware was specifically designed for 4:3 CRT's.
Any of my other options look off? I guess everything runs just about perfectly now so hopefully it's all good. I'm guessing since ZSNES is older and dated it lacks some of this support but in turn can sometimes run a few games better, at least for me. So far that's mainly been with Super Mario All-Stars and then this weird Hi-Res menu problem with Secret of Mana and Rudras wasn't an issue in ZSNES. Just glad I quickly solved it.

Yeah, the ? wants you to experiment a bit.
Also, definitely don't use ZSNES. It wasn't bad back in the day, but SNES9x is superior.

It wasn't bad back in the day, but SNES9x is superior. Agreed. ZSNES was good in its day, but that day is long behind us now. For PC you want to be using the latest version of SNES9x. Actually it's what I use on my phone as well, via Snes9x EX+. - I made more progress in Ace Combat 3 tonight. I'm at the very end now, may beat it tomorrow night. This AC has multiple story arcs via optional paths, I ended up taking the most sci-fi heavy one. I was flying around up in space shooting satellites down, then dogfighting against a digitized consciousness, and ending up docking in a stratospheric aerial base. After AC3 and FtFtBT are both done, I plan on checking out Holy Umbrella: Dondera´s Wild!!. Other than Xeogred playing Rudras, anybody else playing some fan trans for Club Retro? I'm probably going to play a fan-translated PS1 game after I'm done with the one I'm currently playing. I just want to point out I use SNES9x myself, it worked great so far.

If I'm gonna be playing RPGs, it's gonna be later this year when things have settled. Right now... maybe I'll try Radical Dreamers again today? If I can get some peace and quiet. Otherwise, it'll have some be some fan-translated action game.

It's quite intuitive and easy to use. You'll find mantras in chest, and you'll be able to combined prefixes and suffixes from one mantra to another to get a stronger version or one that hits all enemies, etc. The magic system in Rudra is a non-issue.
