Did any of you here play Infinite Space?
I own it but haven't tried it out yet.

I've played it for an hour or so. It's different, for sure. I do have a copy that I managed to score a while back for a reasonable price.

Did any of you here play Infinite Space? I plan to play it someday. The fact that it's a 60 hour long visual novel with rock paper scissors combat is a little intimidating though.

I remember it being classified as a RPG but whenever I'd look at screenshots, they didn't seem to match that. I could never figure out exactly what kind of game it was, which is why I never bought it, even though I was intrigued by it. So I guess it being mostly a VN makes sense.

So close to being a "good" GameStop order. I figured the two 3DS games would be generic cases, and I was right. Surprisingly, SoulCalibur Legends was complete, for whatever that is worth (yes, I know it has a horrible reputation). That just left the PS4 games... and only one was a generic case - Valkyria Revolution. All the others with original art. So that's mostly a win, but I really would have loved a non-generic case on that last one! That's a cheap game, though, so I'm sure I could swap it out at some point. Not a bad order overall.
The only real issue is navigating how to get the "complete" Fire Emblem Fates experience. My understanding is that, outside of the limited run combo cart they did, you have to buy the Revelation DLC, and that the two carts actually won't talk to each other properly to indicate you've cleared both. So you basically need to buy the digital version of the opposing game (either Conquest or Birthright) to get proper access to the Revelation DLC. I'm going to see if there are any workarounds, though.
EDIT: Okay, apparently it's just some bonuses if they all tie together? You can still access the Revelation path, but obviously it has to be bought as DLC with one of the carts (or maybe it works with both, I have no idea).

Surprisingly, SoulCalibur Legends was complete, for whatever that is worth (yes, I know it has a horrible reputation). I owned and played that game, its reputation is warranted. That is one of multiple reasons I stopped shopping at GameStop back in 2007. The company actively destroys game manuals and cast artwork inserts. That just... sacrilege. Sometimes on eBay you can find just the case and/or manual very inexpensively. Maybe look there? Yeah it still burns my ass to this day, that I wasn't aware of that combo cart's existence, until way after it was no longer available. Nintendo did not do a good job of getting the word out on that one. I do own physical copies of Birthright and Conquest though. But I figured I'd have to buy Revelation via DLC, if I cared enough at that point. One might very well be burned out after B&C. It'd be fun to read you play through a Fire Emblem. Although not the brand new ones initially, as they don't have the teeth the old games did. I highly suggest Path of Radiance though, I loved that one.

Well, I did finish off my playthrough of Blazing Blade, the first GBA Fire Emblem we got here. My thoughts were in this post: hardcoreretrogaming.boards.net/post/15442I'm still confused about the bonus items for linking versions, but I know I'm going to have to buy Revelation regardless. I'll probably pair that with my copy of Conquest, since that one is complete. And I had a chance to pre-order the three-in-one cart, and stupidly didn't. $80 was a tall ask, but if I'd known how messy all this DLC was going to be, I'd have done it then and there.

Man I would have gladly dumped $80 into that buy, IF I had simply known it was an option.

To be honest, part of the reason I passed is that I'd effectively stopped buying SRPGs at that point due to having barely played any of the ones I was grabbing. Given how Fire Emblem games seem to explode in price, though, that was a terrible decision. That probably means I need to snag Three Houses for Switch here pretty soon. At least it doesn't have this insanely confusing split release, though.
