Last game, The Lost Child, had its original case. So... 12/16 complete. That's pretty darn good, all things considered.

Hopefully those cases don't have a bunch of stickers all over them. That was one reason I stopped shopping at GameStop back in '07. Man they loved to plaster stickers all over game cases.

They come off pretty easy, so that's not a big problem, thankfully. Although... the stickers don't bother me that much, so most of my stuff still has them on there.

They never came off so easy for me, not without leaving residue behind at least. But Goo Gone does the trick to clean that stuff away. I just can't stand aftermarket sales stickers on my game cases. The dude does not abide!

So I did get a Vita a couple weeks ago. It is the early white model PCH-1001 with 4 games: 1) Persona 4 Gold, never played Persona, but this looks like Shin Megami Tensei the social edition 2) PlayStation All-stars, Sony's Smash clone? 3) BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend -- I'm not a big fighting game fan 4) Assasin's Creed Liberation -- I have yet to see an assassin's creed game I like =(
I've sold off All-stars and BlazeBlue. Persona 4 looks interesting, but the plot is also never ending. What are you thoughts on that one? The game seems to consume a significant amount of time, and I haven't decided if it is worth it...
That said, my initial experience with the Vita is very positive. Coming from the Nintendo side of things, the Vita is what the "New" Nintendo 3DS should have been. The screen is clear, sharp, and larger than the 3DS. The graphical capability is a significant step up from 3DS as well. I'll have to play more to give a better review, but this console is definitely great for playing while going to bed.

I'm kind of the same way with Assassin's Creed, but I have to wonder if the newer games, which are basically ARPGs at this point, would appeal.

Awesome. Double awesome that you were savvy enough to get an OLED model. >Persona 4 GoldWell this was the first game I bought for Vita. I still have not played it. The 70-80 hour long completion time turns me off in general. Also the whole "be a high schooler" thing (really tired of high school protagonists in JRPGs) bugs me. Lastly I played P3P and it sucked - but maybe P4G is a lot better? I don't know. These games are basically social life simulators with JRPG stuff sprinkled on top. >2) PlayStation All-stars, Sony's Smash clone? >3) BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend -- I'm not a big fighting game fanI've got those two on PS3 IIRC, but BlazBlue is good no matter the platform. I see you sold them though. >Assassin's Creed LiberationThis was the first Vita game I beat, back in 2014. These were my notes: "Assassin's Creed III: Liberation is a game of stark dichotomies. The graphics are amazing for a first gen Vita title, but they are betrayed by an engine that's prone to crashes and glitches. The game's protagonist is a wonderful anti-stereotype, but she is betrayed by a story told so haphazardly as to be incomprehensible. The combat system is robust and complex, but is betrayed by shoehorned touch screen controls. Yes this game is full of rushed-to-release compromises, but the sense of exploration throughout the experience never ceases to be entertaining." 7/10>That said, my initial experience with the Vita is very positive.I'm glad to read that. The Vita library is larger than most think it is. If you start digging, I believe you'll find all kinds of gems to enjoy.

Ex: If you didn't care for P3P, I don't think you'll enjoy P4G either. While P4G is supposed to be a step up (not that I've played long enough to truly confirm if that's true), they're very, very similar in terms of mechanics.

Awesome. Double awesome that you were savvy enough to get an OLED model. I can really tell the difference between OLED and LCD screens now. LCDs are still good, but this OLED is really nice. > "Assassin's Creed III: Liberation is a game of stark dichotomies. Hm, seems like a mixed bag, but 10 hour playtime is a huge improvement over Persona. My main issue with P4G is that there *seems to be* so much filler plot. The daughter/father situation doesn't add much to the game right now and the relationships between the protagonist and Chie/Yosuke are a little drawn out. I finally got to the part where you upgrade you persona(s) with social status and fusion. The fusion is cool (I enjoyed it in the regular Shin Megami Tensei IV.) but the social status I could see going either fun (with side-quests) or annoying (listening to characters whine/complain.)
That said, I really enjoyed Shin Megami Tensei IV for the plot, mechanics, and art, which Persona does share some of (since it is part of the series.) I want to try the older versions of Shin Megami Tensei at some point.
Sarge / Ex Also, thanks for all those recommendations, I'm trying to digest them all and most look pretty good. =) The Vita library is larger than most think it is. If you start digging, I believe you'll find all kinds of gems to enjoy. It is huge! I feel like a kid in a candy store looking through them.

I can really tell the difference between OLED and LCD screens now. I agree. And this is coming from someone who owns an OLED and LCD model, and has used them side by side for legitimate comparison. The OLED wins, no contest. That said, I still wanted a backup Vita, so I ended up keeping the LCD model "just in case". >but the social status I could see going either fun (with side-quests) or annoying (listening to characters whine/complain.)This is why I don't generally care for high school protagonists. It's hard to relate to their petty naive struggles, when you're a middle aged man with far more serious problems to contend with. Well my biggest issues with P3P, were that its dungeons were generic sludge, and the flow of the game was crushingly formulaic. That said, I may give the PS2 version of FES a try eventually. Perhaps it'll improve the experience somehow, I don't know.
Anyway that doesn't have anything to do with P4G... so do keep us informed on how P4G turns out for you. I'm mainly wondering if its plot can uphold such a bulbous playtime. >That said, I really enjoyed Shin Megami Tensei IV for the plot, mechanics, and artI own, but have not played, that particular entry. It and its sequel look very fun. I've only beaten two SMT RPGs so far; SMT3: Nocturne on PS2, and SMT Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers on 3DS. Soul Hackers was "alright", but Nocturne was absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend Nocturne strongly enough to hardy RPG fans. I've also been playing Digital Devil Saga on PS2 recently, and I'm about a third of the way through the game now. But I stalled out due to how ridiculous its encounter rate is. I still plan to go back and chip away at the game, because everything else about it was really fantastic. >It is huge! I feel like a kid in a candy store looking through them.
Indeed. Also, keep in mind, the Vita is NOT region locked! A fair amount of my Vita library is imports as a result. A surprising amount of Asian Vita releases also support English text. Well, maybe not surprising, as publishers knew weebs like me would buy the games if we could read them. But yeah man, dat Vita library.
