Eh, we always knew it would end eventually. They probably should have made the pricing structure a lot clearer with Forbidden West from what I'm reading, but games get delayed outside of the launch window all the time. Besides, aren't PS4 titles still $60 and PS5 games typically $70?

Eh, we always knew it would end eventually. Did we? “The PS5 versions of those games are built from the ground up to take advantage of the PS5 feature set, and we have an upgrade path for PS4 users to get the PS5 versions for free. It’s about people having choice. I’m really quite pleased about the situation.” -Jim Ryan ( www.washingtonpost.com/video-games/2020/09/16/ps5-retail-units/ )

I believe that was supposed to be for "launch window" games, not in perpetuity, but maybe I'm wrong. I guess it seems like folks took that statement as an ironclad promise for Forbidden West even as it slipped outside the launch window, which... I mean, yeah, Sony probably could have played that a little better and garnered some good will with their fans. That all being said, a lot of gamers today will gripe and moan about just about anything.

That all being said, a lot of gamers today will gripe and moan about just about anything. That's true, I do see some rather petty complaints at times. That said, publishers are more anti-consumer then ever right now. Monetization on all fronts is out of control.

That said, publishers are more anti-consumer then ever right now. Monetization on all fronts is out of control. Yeah, you're not wrong there, either. Seems like both sides of the equation are broken in some pretty fundamental ways. I would expect PS4 emulation to come around pretty quickly overall, given the move to a PC-style architecture. I know that wasn't the case for the original XBOX, but I think lessons have been learned from how that went in the early going.

Building blocks to the Slim! Hopefully it's much better aesthetically.

Good news indeed, even as it also probably represents a cost savings for Sony.

Considering every prior PlayStation model ended up with a "slim" version, we can intelligently speculate that the PS5 will follow the pattern. Good thing too, because the OG PS5 is ridiculously large.
