In any case, the only SMT-related game - or at least the only one I can think of - that still hasn't been translated yet is the original Devil Summoner for the Saturn. Yeah well, aside from Ronde for the Saturn and several mobile phone games. Also, Shin Megami Tensei Online was available in English at some point but not anymore and I believe someone might be translating it. |

Wonder how it stacks up to ol' MK, and if it uses a DSP chip? It's supposedly a lot harder than MK. I assume the DSP-1 (or later revision) chip is being used for Mode 7: Interesting how the rear view mirrors are shown in the top screen rather than the bottom. |

The name on Wikipedia is slightly different, but it appears to be the same game, and apparently does use the DSP-1.

Oh, cool! I knew that title sounded familiar. The Game Gear doesn't have a ton of untranslated RPGs left; there's that game Eternal Darkness, and one of the Ninku games, and I think that's about it. The translators seem to be the same team that did Zenki a while back, which was a nice little game. It's cool to see the Game Gear get some love.
I've found a Japanese page with the game credits - there's some overlap with the Shining Force Gaiden games, including most of the graphics team. It's pretty apparent in the character portraits. The game seems to have been developed by a company called Rit's, with maybe some collaboration from Sonic Software Planning (future Camelot). I'm hoping this is closer to those in quality than Phantasy Star Gaiden.
