Rather interesting SFC entry translated into English recently: Ihatovo Monogatari (The Stories of Ihatovo) - 1993 In this adventure game for the Super Famicom, the protagonist (controlled by the player) walks around and talks to people and animals that they meet, while collecting items and journals, in an attempt to meet the elusive Kenji Miyazawa. The game centers around several short stories written by Kenji Miyazawa himself. Each chapter of the game focuses on one story. Edit: It's basically a "walking simulator" released on SFC long before the genre took off on PC.

2019 starts off with a bang with the release of a complete translation for the Saturn action RPG Linkle Liver Story seemingly out of nowhere. We were just talking about that game a few months ago in our thread about untranslated RPGs. aishsha has done a lot of translations for NES RPGs, so it's cool to them (her?) branch out, especially since the Saturn needs more love. The romhacking.net announcement closes with "expect more good things to come." EDIT - Apparently, emulation is tricky with this one. mednafen crashes, yabause has unspecified issues when playing two specific songs at the beginning and the end. SSF is recommended.

Oh snap, I'm getting in on this one. Untranslated Saturn games are my obsession. This prompted me to check and see whether the Princess Crown fan translation has made any headway. Sadly as of October 2018 it's still unfinished.

Thanks for the mention toei. Nice to see a Saturn game get translated. While I really appreciate ROMhackers in general, far too much attention gets spent on the Famicom and Super Famicom while other platforms often get ignored. I imagine this has to do with the toolsets and libraries being so well developed for FC/SFC hacking.

That said, I'd like to try it, but I can't find the right version mentioned in the readme.

1995's Godzilla: Kaijuu no Daishingeki AKA Godzilla: Monsters Attack for Game Gear just received an English fan translation: www.romhacking.net/translations/4140/ Apparently it is an SRPG. Speaking of portable strategy games:
2001's Napoleon - L'Aigle de Guerrre has also received an English fan translation:

I heard about the Godzilla one today over at Siliconera and laughed when I saw it's an SRPG haha... very interesting combination there.

Red Arremer: Makai-Mura Gaiden has received an English fan translation. Although this game was officially localized into English long ago, under the name Gargoyle's Quest, this new translation is supposedly far more accurate. www.romhacking.net/translations/4146/This is one of my all time favorite games, one of a handful that I replay every few years. I'm looking forward to this new translation when next I do. Also this game's sequel on Game Boy received an English fan translation a few years back: www.romhacking.net/translations/1794/Although I recommend playing the officially localized NES version instead for that entry.
