Sarge Finally we can lay the myth of Beyond the Beyond being the worst PSX RPG to rest (it's not even that bad, honestly... though it is tedious). It looks like this one is just terrible from both a technical and writing perspective. I'll probably try it, but the battles seem really slow, with a weird lag before each attack animation, so if there's a lot of them I won't put up with it for long. I doubt something can be "so bad it's good" for 40 hours, though.

The 1987 Famicom action-platformer Argos no Senshi: Hachamecha Daishingeki ( Warrior of Argus: Extreme Great Charge) has receive a new English fan translation: www.romhacking.net/translations/7346/This Famicom entry was officially localized and published in the west for NES as Rygar in 1987. Here's what the new translation notes say about why this patch was released: "This is a retranslation of Rygar, specifically the original Japanese Argos no Senshi version. Rygar was changed heavily when officially localized, which makes this patch preferable for purists.
Notes:
Argos no Senshi had a completely different OST from Rygar, which is mostly noticeable in the dungeons where the Japanese track was much longer. This patch uses the Japanese OST The script in this retranslation takes a middle ground between the official English localization and the original Japanese. As such, localized terms like Eruga are respected, but localized terms which were not close to their Japanese counterparts have been restored The original Japanese logo is used The original ending screen, while always in English, has been reworded to flow more naturally "I've only beaten Rygar once. Back in 1989 on a real NES. I never owned this one, but a school friend let me borrow his copy for a weekend. When I was 10 years old I found this game to be hugely atmospheric and mysterious. I always wondered why the meditating bearded guys were so much bigger than the protagonist.

I always thought they were like wisened demigods or something.
Anyway, Rygar is a cool game.

In a better world we'd be seeing an Ancient Re:Man remake trilogy instead of FFVII. But alas, we live in this one.

The only way it could be better is if it were in perpetual Early Access.
