Well dang. Crazy timing for sure. I didn't catch that part in the readme for this one.
Either way, yeah, it's a very good NES platformer. Definitely one of my favorites. I wish legit copies weren't so pricey, though...

Three translations for a NES platformer. Damn. It also got a full Spanish translation in 2017...
...unfortunately the translation was based on the 1998 one. ¡Tratando de hacer oro de mierda!

I have to admit, I did not even know this game existed. MMBN4.5 wasn't brought to the west, mainly because a device the game utilizes wasn't brought to the west: megaman.fandom.com/wiki/Battle_Chip_GateMiddle school-aged me would have loved this thing. Back then I was really fascinated by collectible games that interfaced with electronics.

Middle school-aged me would have loved this thing. Back then I was really fascinated by collectible games that interfaced with electronics. I think middle school aged Japanese boys were indeed the target demographic for the MMBN series. I probably would have liked that thing at that age as well. I had a few video game peripherals as a kid though. Most of them were for my Master System. I had the Light Phaser, Sports Pad, and the 3-D Glasses. The glasses were REALLY great, worked fantastic if you followed the recommended lighting environment and distance. Zaxxon 3D was incredible using them. My holy grail video game peripheral though, was the Power Glove. I was fortunate enough to receive one for Christmas of 1989 (after having received a NES earlier that year for my birthday). My excitement quickly diminished unfortunately, after using the glove. My parents hadn't bought any of the games that were specifically made for the Power Glove, so I was unable to experience its most immersive implementation. Instead, I tried to use it to play regular video games. Making Mario run and jump using wrist tilts and finger flicks worked out about as clunky as you'd assume. I ended up just using the gamepad built on the glove most of the time. Still in hindsight I can appreciate my parents spent about $150 (in today's money) buying me that boondoggle. Shame on '80s Nintendo for not having included a suitable pack-in game for such an expensive peripheral.

What's that, you say? It was already translated back in the early 2000s? Well, apparently the text was mostly made up, according to Stardust Crusaders, so they did a proper translation of the game. Heh. The original translation was back in 1998, yeah it was a joke. But earlier this month, another hacker called "Arrogant" re-translated this game: www.romhacking.net/translations/5103/
StardustCrusader's translation dropped just two weeks after that.
Very cool. This one is on my short list for the coming year.

20thcenturygamer: I think you'll enjoy it. I wish I could import a copy, but it's one of those games.

There's usually a few big releases around the holidays. This counts as a big release, I think: the first Sakura Wars on Sega Saturn. A popular, long-running series of Japanese SRPG/dating sim/VN hybrids co-developed by RED and Sega, only one entry has been released in English that I know of: Sakura Wars 5, as Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love on PS2 an Wii. I have to say that I have zero interest in dating sims, and little in visual novels, but I've always wondered what that series was like, so I want to try it regardless.

toeiWow I didn't expect that. Very cool. Always happy to see new Saturn translations. The only game I have from this series is this: I bought it for the tactical mech battles though, not waifu dating.
