Wasn't that the one toei posted about a while back? RHDN shows an initial release date of 4/19/20 (yesterday) for this patch. So... I don't think so? |

Yeah, same game. This is version 1.01, hence the new release date.

It gets bumped up when it's a patch revision.
I find it confusing at times, too. I'm like, oh, sweet, a new translation! Then I realize it's a revision.

Okay I got it sorted out. Yes this was the same game toei posted about earlier this month. So consider my post a notification of the revised patch then. |

Wouldn't have been my first pick for a PCE-CD translation, but hopefully this act will prove a trend for the platform.

Worth noting that they inserted subtitles where there wasn't any text previously, which may be a first for a PCE-CD translation (neither Ys IV nor Xak III did it).

I can't tell if the FF7 retranslation is worth a look or not. Sometimes these translations might go a little too far or too literal. The canon is ever changing and I'm sure there could be mistakes even in going for 100% accuracy, since this is a 20 some year old game now.
Who knows though, I'm thinking of giving it a shot instead of just playing the original game again on PS4. But I'm also not sure I'm up for the hassle of setting up the mods, making sure my Dualshock works (playing FF7 with an Xbox gamepad seems like it would be treacherous).
