I'm disappointed Logres is a pinball game and not a RPG, personally. It came out on the PSX with that cover: Still ugly, but in a much more generic way. Web Mystery does sound cool, especially since it's from 1999.

Sword of the Berserk: Guts' RageTonight I took down Nosferatu Zodd and saved at the Mandragoran Belthazar (Balzak) fight. All Normal difficulty thus far. I don't think I have a whole lot left, maybe I'll have this one beat with my next session. Resumed my play of this tonight. I beat Balzak into the ground no problem, piece of cake. But then it's the root smashing tunnels with the stinging plants, where you run TOWARDS the camera, in that asinine Crash Bandicoot way. Get touched by the root once, it's instant death. Die too many times, and you have to start the whole chapter over again, meaning you have to beat Balzak again, and again... This game has such incredibly bad game design - it just boggles my mind. Ugh. I'm playing something else for a little while.

I guess I got lucky and got through on the first try. I can see where it's annoying, though. I wonder if difficulty level makes a difference there? I might have still been on Easy from my earlier frustrations. Definitely give that a shot if it gets too nutty.
Also, one bit of advice I saw (and took) was to jump as little as possible. It slows you down too much otherwise.

Yeah, I'll try easy next time, maybe there's less paralyzing plants and the root march is slower. I already beat the hardest boss in the game on Normal anyway, I don't think I have anything else to prove regarding combat here.

Yep, that was my opinion by that point, too. That big demon guy was quite a pain in the rear.

That he was. I think I eventually beat him via sheer brute anger more than skill. True Guts style. - On a more positive note, I put an hour into Blue Submarine No. 6: Time And Tide this evening. I finished the first two missions, and enjoyed the experience so far. From that link: "Blue Submarine No. 6: Tides of Time is an underwater-exploration game developed by Sega and released for the Dreamcast in 2000. The game follows the exploits of a deep-sea salvage crew as they recover treasure. The game includes FMV animation by Gonzo, a renowned Anime studio responsible for the original OVA."Back in 2000, I actually watched the OVA series that inspired this game. But that was twenty years ago now, and honestly I don't remember much at all about the plot. Apparently this game assumes you just got done watching the OVA, and acts as a sequel to it, best I can tell. I'll have to go read a synopsis of the OVA's plot to get back up to speed. But I'm cautiously optimistic at this point about the game itself. Here's a bunch of random screenshots I took while playing the game in Redream:

Turns out you can't cheese your way through Gunbird 2 with infinite continues, as if you were playing on an arcade with all the spare change in the world...
Here once you use up I think ~2-3 continues mid level, all the continues from that point on send you back to the beginning of the level, instead of respawning you right away like a normal life would.
The difficulty goes from 1 to 11 pretty quickly, hah. So I got stuck on 1-5, then bumped the difficulty down from Normal to Easy, still no go. There's also Very Easy, then... Child, and Baby, lol. I guess I could give those a shot if I keep struggling.
Still a fun simple game though. I really like the feel and look of it. Seems like the dev team Psikyo has done a ton of shmups: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psikyo
For a 1998 Capcom produced game, it really gives me some cozy Mega Man Legends vibes in a way.

Gunbird 2 is one of my favorite shooters on Dreamcast, but mainly I recommend playing it with a Player 2 if possible (I wrote more but edited it since it was not very "game related"). That is also how I recommend playing Cannon Spike from Psikyo/Capcom, just a lot of fun that way. Actually, I would say a strength of the Dreamcast is the many fun two-player (well, up to four in some cases) games on the console. For me, one of the best "multiple player" games is Power Stone 2. I have fond memories of playing the Dreamcast game Armada with three other players in a hotel room during a school trip haha. Has anyone else here played Armada? I have not checked online recently but back in the day it was pretty underappreciated to me.
