I can give it a test and see if I can get it working. I don't think I've burned it, but I'm going to check.
EDIT: Oh, right, I used a Mega EverDrive to load a region-patched US BIOS. I'll look around for a bit and see if there's an easier solution.

Okay, this is an around-the-world method, but it worked. - I got my image from a certain romantic CD site. - I took the first track BIN file and converted it to ISO. Several ways to do this, but I mounted in Daemon Tools, and then used ImgBurn to write to ISO. - Grabbed this tool and ran it on the ISO: www.retrodev.com/convscd.html- Using the same mount/conversion method, I turned the ISO back to BIN. (This might not be necessary, can probably edit the CUE file in next step.) - Either rename the file to match the old BIN file, or change the entry in the CUE file to match the new filename. (If you stick to ISO, I think you have to change the MODE to 2048 instead of 2352.) - It works in KGen with locked region options (it wasn't before), I'm going to test on real hardware shortly.

Understood. It looks like the main difference is that I was trying to avoid converting the BIN into ISO. I'm not at a point in my day where I can try this again, but I will be sometime next week, and your process makes sense. Thanks for looking into that for me.

There appears to be something weird when running in the US BIOS - the screen's black border turns purple/magenta, and it appears to affect all the FMVs (all black pixels are that magenta color). No idea what's happening there. (It does run on real hardware, by the way.) Running in Kega Fusion (called this KGen in prior post, old habits die hard!) shows the same thing, but doesn't show the problem with a Japanese BIOS. (Also tested on real system, loading via Japanese BIOS, and it fixes the problem. Here's what it looks like...)
