Alright here's some more:
anayoAce Combat 5 PS2
Apache: Air Assault various
-For a minute you were into flight simulators. Well man, these are great ones to play.
bonesnapdeez999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors DS (got ported elsewhere IIRC)
-The start of the
Zero Escape series. As much as you enjoy VNs, can't see why you wouldn't enjoy this one. It's tense, nerve wracking, intriguing, weird and can be difficult. I gave it a 7/10 but it's still clever and mandatory for any VN fan to at least try IMO.
Another Code: R - A Journey into Lost Memories Wii
-Another CiNG adventure, and quite the improvement over its DS predecessor. Outstanding Wii visuals, great OST, really intriguing mystery and a wonderful place to explore.
Dragonstomper Atari 2600
-Very fun, super impressive proto-action-WRPG. I know you would appreciate it.
Soreyuke! BurunyanMan Portable PSP
-Heckin' fun cute 'em up starring cute waifus, I bet you'd like it.
Dancing Eyes arcade
-I think you are the other HRG member that could "get" what makes this simple arcade game so damn fun. Unless you have an aversion to unclothing girls as a monkey.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 |
Last Window: The Secret of Cape West DS
-For me these are the best visual novels ever made. Granted they have a lot more gameplay than your standard VN.
Malaya's Treasure (
Malaya No Hihou) MSX2
-A primitive platformer with enough complexity to still feel like a jungle adventure.
SargeA Way Out PS4
-The best co-op game I've ever played... play it with your bro!
Again: Interactive Crime Novel DS
-I remember back when you beat a whole lot of DS adventure games and had a great time. Well here's one you missed, and I think you would definitely enjoy it. It's a dark mystery with some unique mechanics, also CiNG made it so you know it's decent. Edit: Also you still haven't played through
Last Window: The Secret of Cape West! Dude... it's so much better than
Jake Hunter, come on!
God Hand PS2
-Just a reminder not to forget to finish this. I think you've got the skills?
Rapid Reload PS1
-It's a tough run 'n gun action-platformer with nice production values.
Red Dead Redemption 2 various
-This is my BotW/TotK.
Star Fox 2 SNES/SFC
-Can't remember if you beat this or not. If not you should!
The Lost Crown PC
-I know you enjoy point 'n click adventure games from time to time. I recall you enjoyed the
Blackwell series. Well this is a ghost laden adventure of a different sort. For me this was both terrifying and endlessly interesting, wholly immersive. Easily one of the greatest point 'n click adventure games I've ever played, and I've played a few. Not saying it's perfect, but it's absolutely worth playing (doing so alone in the dark).
Tormentum - Dark Sorrow various (I beat it on Android)
-Another fairly recent adventure game that blew me away. I don't want to say too much about it, other than it's worth anybody's time.
Umihara Kawase Shun ~second edition~ PS1
-Highly entertaining, unusually challenging, innovative platformer. I greatly enjoyed beating this one, but many give up because the rubber band physics are too difficult. But if I can beat this, surely the Lord of Platformers can.
Yakuza series in general
-As much as you enjoy beat 'em ups and action-JRPGs... this is THE beat 'em up/action-JRPG hybrid series. I think you'd love these games if you got into them.
toeiDark Souls various
-We simply must know your informed opinion.
Baroque PS2
-If David Lynch made a roguelike.
Kingdom Grand Prix arcade/Saturn
-You like shmups where you can be people, well this is in that vein. It's also a shmup-racing hybrid, quite unique. You might not love it, but I think you'd appreciate its attempt at innovation in the genre.
King's Field: The Ancient City PS2
-Don't write off KF until you've put a few hours into this one.
Late Shift PC
-Another interactive-film adventure game that I enjoyed. Most FMV games suck but this one (and
Contradiction) did not, you might like it.
Shadow Tower Abyss PS2
-If you can't stand KF's "slowness" then play this. It's not nearly as slow and you even get guns. Surreal and wicked.
Urban Reign PS2
-Are you a bad enough dude?
XeogredCastlevania II: Belmont's Revenge GB
-You might not have played this one due to your aversion to handhelds, but this is one great
Castlevania. It's in the classic style pre-SotN, but it's well designed whip snapping fun.
Deception III: Dark Delusion PS1
-It's a horror action-strategy starring a female protagonist brutally murdering her foes with all manner of death traps. The plot is self-contained so doesn't matter it's "part 3". Underrated and criminally ignored.
Disaster: Day of Crisis Wii
-Another Monolith Soft game, but this one's an over the top action-adventure with arcade sensibility.
Eternal Ring-You beat all the other FromSoftware real-time first person dungeon crawlers... except this one. Come on man, finish the mission!
Faselei! Neo Geo Pocket Color
-Well made mecha SRPG with just enough complexity to be engaging, but not so much it gets bogged down. Highly unique and made by the
Shadow Hearts folks (Sacnoth).
Front Mission 5-The apex of the series and a real man's mecha SRPG.
Metal Gear Acid 1 & 2 PSP
-MG flavored SRPGs with a fast-paced card battle system. If the card battle system scares you, don't worry, it's quick and intuitive, this is not Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic. Feels very legit MG, these are great games, especially for MG fans.
Metal Wolf Chaos XD PS4
-I sent you this FromSoftware gem for a reason. And the reason is, I am the president of the United States of America.
Rapid Reload PS1
-It's a tough run 'n gun action-platformer with nice production values.
Skies of Arcadia Legends GameCube
-Phenomenal JRPG that is just a joy to play, air pirates and great exploration.
Skyblazer SNES
-This is a damned good 16-bit action-platformer. If you've not played it, you really ought to.
Sarge can back me up on this one.
The 3rd Birthday PSP
-Not sure if you played through what equates to
Parasite Eve 3. This is a challenging third person shooter with excellent production values (given the platform) and a sexy protag.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory various (I recommend PC version)
-From a gameplay perspective this is as good as any
Metal Gear. Seriously well designed missions with lots of player freedom.
Tougi Ou: King Colossus Mega Drive
-It's an action-JRPG with a serious tone and fast pacing. A bit like
Soul Blazer in combat.
Urban Reign PS2
-Are you a bad enough dude?
