This is the retro defunct logos, etc. thread. Developers, publishers, series, any random designation, whatever. Share your faves. I'll start with some classic Konami. Lotta folks have never seen the oldest logo with the fancy K. This was a great era: The bacon strips were also iconic: The huge vertical logo was a weird one, but I like it! Was this only used on Japanese N64 games? Konami had a great sports line-up too, the "XXL Sports" series. A nice small clean collection if you're into retro sports games like I am:

The bacon strips were also iconic Now I'll never be able to unsee that. First thing that came to mind is the Hudson Bee: Everybody loves the bee. Of course I miss seeing this logo:

I remember being surprised to see the Bee on Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts. I had figured the logo would have been toast at that point. Sega Sports had a great logo (the old one at least) and was usually a sign of a decent game. Working Designs also had a great logo that meshed well with the anime art.

Kjonami.
I do love that Sega Sports logo, even though I never played any of the games. I kind of wish I had at least a little - controlling an entire team has to be a different dynamic in human 1v1. It's probably pretty fun. I have no interest in doing that online, though. Those sports game had some of the best / only good American cover arts.
WD's logo was definitely very recognizable, and usually accompanied great '90s anime art back when that sort of thing was rarer. They also kind of had the pick of litter in Japanese games on a lot of the consoles they worked on, so they were associated with a lot of really great games. Magic Knight Rayheart, Alundra, Growlanser Generations... amazing stuff.
I'll have to think of other logos myself. Of course I like the original Sega Genesis logo that inspired HRG's.

Funny that FromSoftware has had the most "web 3.0" logo for ages now, something that would fit in with the current soulless branding you see. But I wouldn't change a thing with them haha, it's iconic now. But yeah they've been using it since the beginning:
I like how 90's Rare looked like a collectible you could find in Donkey Kong Country.
Me growing up...
Dis' gonna be good!

Thinking more about Sega, one weird thing they did was put a MASSIVE logo on their second gen releases: Obviously excessive, but I like it!

Whenever I see games rated "K-A for Kids to Adults" it reminds me of playing Sega Genesis games as a kid.
