Yeah, I guess there is that. My vision is still pretty decent, but I try to reduce eye strain a lot more these days. Small screens are a pain sometimes.

You know, hitting on what Ziggy hit on almost a year ago, the MiSTer FPGA stuff seems to be maturing pretty rapidly. Lots of cores, accuracy improvements... I've been awfully tempted to jump in. I think it would be an interesting alternative to the normal emulation route. Not that the FPGA isn't also emulation in its own manner, but they're fundamentally different approaches. Too bad byuu pulled his excellent article comparing software emulation with FPGA emulation.

Too bad byuu pulled his excellent article comparing software emulation with FPGA emulation. I don't have time to re-find the article now, but there are some Reddit threads with good discussion about said article: https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comments/7vqf8i/what_is_emulation_comparison_of_traditional/ https://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comments/7vjehj/fpgas_arent_magic_an_article_by_the_creator_of/

I think someone said he even had them pulled off Internet Archive.

I think someone said he even had them pulled off Internet Archive. Sounds like something he'd do. But that doesn't stop an old hound like me: archive.fo/ZOJh5

Why do all that, though? Did he change his mind completely or learn a new piece of information that would render the articles invalid?

From what I understand, that tends to be par for the course for byuu. It also could just be that he was tired of dealing with tons of negative feedback from people, which does seem to happen a lot with articles he writes. His style can be a bit abrasive.
