Something that sparked in another thread, I'm curious if we can get a decent list going of JRPG's out there that have multiple battle themes throughout? I always thought that was really cool, naturally keeps things interesting and can be impressive. However it seems to be a very rare occurrence as well. Limitations probably being one reason, but even some SNES RPG's out there have done this and you would think they'd let loose in the 32bit era, but that wasn't really the case.
Breath of Fire IV - this one does a cool thing with two different continents having two different sets of battle/boss themes, loved how they handled it. Seiken Densetsu 3 - doesn't have a main battle theme per se, as the level theme just keeps playing when you engage in normal battles. It does however have probably like nearly 10 different boss themes that are all amazing. Tactics Ogre - Let Us Cling Together - might be a stretch because it's an SRPG, but this game is chalk full of different themes whereas some others seem lazy in comparison. Also it's composed by master Hitoshi Sakimoto! The SNES tunes rule. The Last Remnant - something a bit newer, had tons of battle themes and great music in general. Xenogears - has a handful of battle themes, but admittedly the "usage" isn't that balanced. I recall "Knight of Fire" being a bit overplayed, but still one of Mitsuda's best scores with nice variety.
Hmmmmmm, that's all I've got now.

Tales of the Abyss has multiple battle themes. I distinctly remember the main battle music changing about halfway through the game. I'm pretty sure these three are just the regular battle tracks. For the record, Abyss and Symphonia are my favorite of the series. I didn't like Abyss as much first (less combo potential), but it really grew on me, and is one of the few games in the series where I found the plot intriguing. Tales of the Abyss Battle Themes

Slightly off topic, but one great thing about Chrono Trigger is the sections with NO battle theme. I prefer the seamlessness of just having a single area track.

Also off topic a little, but one of my favorite moments from Shining Force was when, during the circus battle, the battle arena music is a warped version of the happy town music. That game needed a lot more music variety, but that one moment always stuck out to me.
