I'm not sure if this really goes here... but after looking up some FF7 Materia combos, I stumbled upon this site from 1997.
EDIT: I can't even navigate my way back to the Materia page without just bringing up my own browser history. Not sure if this site has any links from a page to this page:

I thought it was just a FF7 site at first but it looks like it was at least a mid-size RPG page. It hosted reviews, fan art and fan fiction from other contributors, etc. Never stumbled on it back in the day, though. "Sadly", the fan fiction archive is down.

"Sadly", the fan fiction archive is down. Hah, yeah could be for the best... though guess that's some lost history.
This site is awesome. Have to go through a normal index, but once you get to a game it'll bring up some old school pages and tables:

Yeah, I used rpgclassics all the time back in the day. The main feature there was the screenshots-based walkthroughs. I always like to look at walkthroughs after finished a game to see if I'd missed anything big, and those were great. Actually, we were just talking about Dragon Quest VI - I used the rpgclassics walkthrough to find out how to get to the post-game content. I still remember the exact screenshot indicating which spot to search.

New War Stories video that goes into detail about Remedy's history and mostly Alan Wake. I'm not watching too much of it, for fear of Alan Wake spoilers (not played it yet).

I, on the other hand, probably need to watch this tonight. Thanks for the link!

I love Civvie 11. He deserves to be more famous on YouTube imo.

NoClip did a huge documentary on Arkane recently and one of the biggest scoops on this thing is a ton of footage from their cancelled Half-Life 2 Ravenholm, sometimes called "Episode 4".
Here's the whole thing which seems to cover their entire history. It's crazy they were able to release footage like this for some of these cancelled games, between Valve, Bethesda (owning Arkane), and EA. I don't think publishers are often this kind for things like this to be revealed. Fascinating stuff.

Speaking of which, if you're willing to jump through hoops, you can get Arx Fatalis for free through Bethesda's website/launcher. I messed up and forgot to verify my account first, so the game still hasn't been added... so if you do that, don't forget to verify first! Follow the instructions carefully! Or just buy it off of GOG for like $1.79 right now. I thought about just doing that. I already have the XBOX version, though, and I wonder what the major differences are between the versions.
Also, y'all want to see something super wacky? I wasn't even aware this thing existed: the 3DO Blaster, an expansion card that was basically a 3DO you put inside your computer. Wild.
