Also, y'all want to see something super wacky? I wasn't even aware this thing existed: the 3DO Blaster, an expansion card that was basically a 3DO you put inside your computer. Wild.
I liked this video too, but I was gobsmacked to hear that only one or two of these pop up on eBay per year, and when they do, they sell for four grand!

Needless to say, I'm going to have my eyes peeled for this one. (You'll probably find it for like $5. )

anayoI vaguely recall reading about that 3DO card in a Computer Shopper long ago. Had completely forgotten about it. Nice trip down memory lane. I'm not surprised it's that expensive nowadays though.

I knew there was a product like this for the Genesis, but not the 3DO. Definitely a cool collector's item.

I was only vaguely aware of the Genesis one until he mentions it at the end of the video, jogging my memory. I also remember there were add-ons for the Pioneer LaserActive for both the Genesis/Sega CD and TurboGrafx/CD as well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaserActive

Oh man, I recall hearing about that one. It's so fascinating. For the other one, I'm guessing you're all talking about the Sega TeraDrive. There's also Amstrad Mega PC ... pretty hideous?
I would love to see a full list of all old Sega gaming hardware. The number has to be staggering, especially if all the variants and other company releases were counted.

Especially if you count all the different arcade boards they used. In a way, an arcade board that runs multiple games is pretty similar to a console. You've got the famous ones like the System 16 or the Model 2, but overall, they've used more unique boards and variants than any other arcade manufacturer, judging by the listings on that site. Their R&D departments never rested.

Pretty funny... but probably very inaccurate. Even though I think 16bit era stuff might still be universally appealing, I bought my nephew (7) a Genesis Mini last Christmas only to see that my parents got him a Switch. I don't think he gives a crap about the Genesis Mini. I could see kids enjoying this stuff for maybe like 5 minutes and then be done with it.
