Given how badly their Gemini AI has performed... I have doubts.

Given how badly their Gemini AI has performed... I have doubts. That's racist! It's worth noting the Genie team are completely different personnel.

Please wait while your console installs an operating system update. Please wait while your game updates to the latest version. We're sorry but game X has crashed please wait while your console reboots.

How's the modern gaming news going today?
PlayStation is cutting around 900 staff worldwide, around 8% of its entire workforce
Some Star Citizen devs reportedly laid off as Cloud Imperium restructures
EA has cancelled Respawn’s Star Wars first-person shooter
EA has closed Battlefield single-player studio Ridgeline Games
Electronic Arts is laying off 5% of its workforce (670 jobs)
A ransomware gang claims to have hacked nearly 200GB of Epic Games internal data
Horizon studio Guerrilla is reportedly cutting 10% of its workforce
Life is Strange sequel studio Deck Nine lays off 20% of staff
ALRIGHTY THEN.

Yeah, still waiting to hear about all these layoffs in Japan... it isn't happening over there (I think some of the Sony layoffs are hitting them though). Their tendency to stick with hardware longer to master it and be slower on jumping forward is paying off now in ways. Western publishers are acting like Hollywood with all the bloat. We're seeing record breaking profits, biggest selling games in dozens of franchises, so where is all that money going? To the execs I guess. When do we ever hear about them being laid off, or taking a salary cut like Iwata did? Never...
Now the economy sucks right now too. But the gaming industry clearly has its own sickness right now as well that probably would have come to this regardless.

I think we're overdue a market correction in this medium anyway. Too many expected covid era sales to be the new norm, rather than the outlier exception.

I think we're overdue a market correction in this medium anyway. Too many expected covid era sales to be the new norm, rather than the outlier exception. 100% that too. Too many low life rich execs who don't really care about gaming thought 2019-2023 whatever was the new "norm". Dummies!

It's also not helping that they haven't been able to drive console prices down much - apparently parts aren't really getting cheaper for PS5s, which is partly due to COVID aftershocks as well.
AAA gaming is in trouble - when budgets get tight, gaming is one of the things that falls off. Folks have quite a bit less disposable income right now.
