So this would be like if Sony/Konami at the time had the power to disable access to PT, even if you had it downloaded.
At first I didn't care about this story, being a demo and all. Though maybe more hardcore folk think even those should be accessible and preserved too. But uh yep, having the thing downloaded and being blocked from running it crosses the line.

having the thing downloaded and being blocked from running it crosses the line 9th gen shenanigans. Another example of why I'm not bothering beyond 8th gen for the foreseeable future.

This would only bother me if it were a special demo where the content is not in the main game (like What's Shenmue or something), but yeah, I wonder why that's necessary. I guess the main fear is them doing it with full games in the future.

It probably wasn't meant to go live yet is my guess. Wouldn't be the first time they've let something like that slip.

The physical version of Star Wars Outlaws requires an online connection to install
lol, not that I had any interest in this game whatsoever. I hope Jedi Survivor gets patched up good for PC someday in my lifetime but who knows. Other than that, Star Wars has been absolute crap in the gaming space since 2012 thanks to Disney and EA. Now that other publishers can take a shot at the IP, the damage has already been done. I don't care, because I'm here to tell you the EU books are GLORIOUS!

Does it require a connection because of anti-piracy, because the disc isn't big enough, or that it has a game-breaking bug that needs to be patched? All of them are ridiculous reasons.

Little skeptical of that particular picture and I wonder if it'll be a district/regional thing. My Target is usually pretty stocked up in the videogame sections. You do have to squint to see Xbox stuff though, lol.
Not really arguing though since it seems inevitable. Retailers won't like it but it's the way things are going.
