Fausseté Amour kind of sucks, honestly. Shubibinman 3 isn't great, but it's kind of decent. Exile is the only genuinely good game in that list. Well, maybe Bonk 3 if you like pure platformers.

I liked Fausseté Amour for two reasons. It's got swing locomotive mechanics, and it's a little ecchi. If you don't care about those things, then it might suck for you. Exile is definitely worth a playthrough for anyone who's not done so yet.

Knocked out Gradius II. Not sure if I've ever beaten any version of this one. The music was amazing as usual.

I put about 45 minutes into this tonight: Unfortunately I had to put it away due to far too much untranslated Japanese in both text and dialogue. Fiend Hunter (1993) is basically an action-RPG done in a side-scrolling format. It's got platforming mechanics very similar to Prince of Persia as well. MobyGames has a fair amount of info on this one actually:
From what I played this game seems legit cool. It was definitely ambitious to say the least. Impressive cutscenes, good OST, complex move-sets and upgrade options looked available. Unfortunately there's just SO much text and dialogue that is untranslated. It seems some of that NPC dialogue will be mandatory to understand in order to progress through the game. Fiend Hunter absolutely deserves an English fan translation. What an unusual and intriguing game this looks to be. But it'd be a crime to play through it and not understand all the dialogue/text. There's a LOT of story in there.

My thoughts from RB when I played through it:
I may give Renny Blaster some burn. And I agree on Fiend Hunter, it's just too Japanese-laden to really invest time into right now. I have a GameFan that covered this game, and it's one I'd love to actually play through.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Xak I & II is just as good as Ys I & II. Xak might even have the better OST.

I worry it might have that same problem with a lot of Japanese dialogue in between stuff.

I keep hoping for Xak I & II to get a translation. Surely it will happen eventually? Xeogred: Despite all the dialogue, proceeding in Spriggan Mk 2 would be much easier since it's a shmup.
