Both of those "frames" can play video with sound, so they sorta can do TV.

Probably a good place for this - I picked up a Mayflash F500 V2 arcade stick for $17.50 in our local Bargain Hunt. Seems to be working fine. It's an entry-level arcade stick, but can take Sanwa parts to upgrade it. It works with a ton of stuff: Switch, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 - Series X, Android, Steam Deck, all the things. And if it craps out on me, I've got 30 days to take it back, since it wasn't a bin sale find.

Do these things work easy with MAME and emulators too? I think playing fighting games with an arcade stick is more of a novelty for my tastes, but for anything else arcade wise I think it would actually be cool to have one of these around. That one looks pretty slick.

Yep yep, works on Windows as well, either in Direct Input or XInput mode. I think it's also got a PS Classic mode if you've got one of those? I know it's got a mode for the Genesis Mini and SNK's mini-Neo Geo cabinet.
I tend to agree with you on fighters - I'm a lot more practiced on a pad. I miss inputs badly using a stick, just because I don't have the muscle memory. But for other stuff like brawlers and whatnot, it feels great and authentic to the arcade experience. This is my third arcade stick, and I don't love the buttons on here, but they're usable. Sanwa clones, which have very little travel. I like the Happ and clones stuff - much stiffer and more travel, like the arcade machines were over here growing up. I've heard the Seimitsu buttons strike a medium between those, so someday I'd like to check them out.

+ Same Hall effect tech that 8bitdo uses + Triggers, joysticks (length, size, etc), and the face buttons, all feel amazing. D-pad I haven't used full time in a game yet, but it feels excellent too. So I can't tell yet by precision, but by feel I love it. + Ergonomically, right on par with the bulky controllers I prefer. Feels very much like the Series X and Switch Pro. Better joysticks than both and should last me for years. - The shell feels a little cheaper than 8bitdo and Xbox stuff, no textured grip either - The unique face buttons are awkward and not great, but a big deal - The L and R buttons are very "clicky" kind of odd Overall though, been loving this controller and it should hopefully last me for years, unlike the Series X controller I used for PC. Which was a damn shame, because that controller shell wise, is A+. D-pad, joysticks, triggers, everything is amazing, but the cheap ass controller drift will make you regret that purchase pretty fast. So I hope these magnetic hall effect joysticks popping up now are legit. I'm not interested in a "subscription" for $70 controllers. Today playing some FF7 Remake, the Y button is getting VERY sticky from mashing.
I give up folks. Good quality and long lasting dependable controllers don't exist anymore. Be prepared to renew your $70 controller subscriptions annually going forward. All part of the plan I'm sure.

I went back to my 8bitdo Pro 2 to wrap up the FF7R DLC with. Which kind of felt better since that controller is like the PS4's. The face buttons are AMAZING too. I still have a Pro 1 and a newer Pro 2 still sealed up, I really wanted one of the cool GameBoy colored ones haha. This controller is fantastic, it's just that sometimes I prefer a bigger Xbox sized controller and the offset joysticks. I'll say the 8bitdo Ultimate is good too which is more Xbox/Switch Pro styled, but then it's smaller and I don't like those face buttons much. So... 8bitdo is probably one of the best trustworthy brands out there. I just have some nitpicks with some of their form factors...
I did wishlist this GameSir G7 controller though... next one I'll probably try out since I'm trapped in this vortex of controllers.
Has the Hall Effect joysticks. So there should be no drift. But now my question is, are the face buttons GOOD?

It may just be something gunked up the button - I have some that do that from time to time. But yeah, seems like a lot of controller quality has slipped.
I don't love my SN30 Pro, but I got to try out my brother's Pro 2 (actually used it for 9 Years of Shadows) and it felt much better.

I noticed the Pro 1's d-pad is very weirdly loose too. I don't mind the concave buttons, but yeah. Everything about the Pro 2 is somehow improved and feels better, even if it may not look it from a glance. lol

Yep, mine is both very loose and quite clacky and stiff simultaneously. And yet I somehow finished Hollow Knight with the thing...
