I do have to wonder, though - is Nvidia still making the Tegra architecture, as in new chipsets? There's always a chance Nintendo makes a break from Tegra and goes with something else. But they'd lose backwards compatibility (probably) at that point, so I dunno. There's certainly always a chance they make the move to a Ryzen chipset instead - those APUs are looking awfully nice - but as anayo says, the gears were probably put in motion years ago.

Probably right. I'm looking around, and apparently the existence of the Tegra 239 has leaked, which folks are speculating will be in the new Switch.
Estimated performance in TFLOPS (not the best measure, honestly) would put it at 4 TFLOPS, which is PS4 Pro territory. That actually makes a ton of sense as a performance target for a portable.
