While I realize that anayo 's set up was created because he was jealous of my set up, but I am now jealous of his set up Mostly because I feel like, if memory serves Windows 98 computers are fairly backwards compatible with 95 games, but all of the games I've collected from the late 90's/early 2000's are languishing on the shelf. There's also a hedonistic part of me that wants to, one day, fill a room with towers running every imaginable windows system (95, 98, 2000, XP, basically everything but Vista) just so I can look at them all and know that I have them. Did I say the hedonistic part of me? I meant the horder part of me. I just inspected most of those PC games you gave me. Only two of them will work (Battlezone and Incoming Forces) because all the others call for a 16 MB video card at minimum, and mine is 8 MB. Also Incoming Forces runs at sub 20 fps. XD

Is that video card a PCI or AGP one? If it's AGP, you still might be able to slide by on it since it will hit system RAM, although of course that slows things down considerably.

Pictured: Toshiba MD30H82 CRT HDTV Cost: $40 I did not know CRT TV's supporting HDMI were ever manufactured until I saw this at an out of state flea market three months ago. I was so intrigued I vowed to come back for it. When I finally came back in early January, the vendor was shocked because he thought I was just saying "I'll be back for this." as a meaningless nicety. My phone camera is incapable of picking up the subtle differences I see with my eyes, so I must describe what I'm seeing. Pluses: -The CRT produces more light than the LCD one, so the overall brightness is higher. -On the CRT, the darks are more intense than the LCD. (My LCD is not an OLED, so the blacks still have an ambient glow from the bulb.) Minuses: -On the CRT, dark areas don't have the best contrast. Everything just kinda gets lost in an inky void. I wouldn't use this thing to play Doom 3. -When playing games in 1080i mode on the CRT, a small bar of the picture gets shaved off on the top and bottom margins compared to the full picture of the LCD. Unsure: -The CRT has some "color bleed" where light and color from one scanline slightly infringes on the adjacent scanline. For instance, on the Nintendo Switch Logo (pure white on a black background), there's dull white "bleeding off" around the perimeter of the logo. The LCD doesn't do this. There's two ways of looking at this, either that it's bad, or that its like free antialiasing. I lean toward the latter. -At first glance I thought the CRT had more vivid colors. Then I compared them side by side. Again, I must reiterate that the phone photo pictured above does not capture what I'm seeing with my eyes. My verdict is that it appears some hues are more vivid on the CRT and others are more vivid on the LCD. This might have something to do with the CRT's color temperature settings. It's certainly a "different" picture, it's just hard for me to articulate exactly how. Either way, it's a very interesting TV. I think I'll use for games that run in 1080i.

Now that is a neat find. How heavy is that set?

Now that is a neat find. How heavy is that set? I feel like it's 70-80 lb. I can carry it short distances but I have to really put my whole body into it.

That's somewhat reasonable, then. A lot better than my massive 150 lb. Trinitron! I wouldn't dare try to move that solo. (I can lift that much, but it's so bulky that it would be a terrible idea.)

I had a trinitron like that briefly and ended up having to take it to the dump. I didn't have a lot of personal storage space at the time and it was downright dangerous to move it. Able to lift 150 lb, lol. That's about what I weigh. XD

Well, I'm in that ballpark myself. Probably 175 lbs. If it were a compact object, I could probably pick it up, but it'd be a bad idea. Last time I tried that (lifted a 250+ pound dude while I was a scrawny 150 lbs.), I saw stars after. Literally.
(To be clear, I wouldn't have a prayer lifting 250+ now. Keyboard warrior for too long. At the time, I had been working on houses, so I was in really good shape.)

One of my favorite things about modern TVs is how lightweight they are. The 65" LG I bought last month only weighs 55lbs. If it was a CRT, well I don't think my fireplace mantle could hold it.
