anayo Ooo, Warcraft 3. The other campaigns are even better I think, mostly because the Human campaign has to have a gentle ramp up. The Undead campaign on 'hard' difficulty has a couple of maps that made me question my sanity, although nowadays I think I've mastered all the strategies.

I always hear that in a lot of ways, Warcraft III ends up being sorta RTS, sorta RPG with the hero units and map exploration and whatnot. I really should give it a concerted go one of these days.

Yeah it's sort of like those special units in WC2 that had a unique portrait setting them apart from the riffraff, really high stats, special moves, and if they died you'd fail the mission. Except in WC3 they gain experience points, level up, have skill trees, and talk a lot. It didn't overtly bother me but I don't necessarily think adding RPG elements to an RTS automatically makes it better.

Ocarina of Time 3D is just shy of being ten years old. It will be in December and it’s an enhanced port of an N64 game. I beat Master Quest on it last night, actually. My second time in this version and my third overall I think. I had forgotten so much and there’s a bunch of weird stuff in this version, like switches hidden inside normal objects. Some stuff felt easier, though, like the water temple was more straightforward than it normally is (but I don’t really have a problem with it unlike other people do).
I played the whole game with the 3D one. Using a New 3DS XL makes it more enjoyable since it tracks your eyes. I like the depth. It makes the world feel bigger than it really is.
I’ve been wanting to play Twilight Princess again lately but we’ll see. I’ve been busy lately with house stuff and personal projects. Plus, I have other stuff that I haven’t gotten around to doing or watching or whatever. I’ve got a stack of unread comics to go through!

I finally played OoT 3D myself in 2018 and really enjoyed that version. I guess I didn't realize it had the Master Quest on there? I played that once on the Cube though, but I don't recall it being different -enough- to be all that interesting. I actually also had a much easier time with the Water Temple on that mode, but I recall having to backtrack (between Young and Adult Link) a few extra times and getting confused by the Spirit Temple. I do remember Ganon's Tower was a lot harder though?
But yeah... I remember back in the day, simply reading about the Master Quest mode in magazines was kind of more interesting than it actually ended up being itself.
I only beat Majora's Mask once when it released. I didn't love it nor did I hate it, so I'm curious to hit up the 3DS version sometime. Sounds like it'll smooth things out with some extra save points, etc...
Twilight Princess is one of my favorites. I played it a second time through with the Wii U HD release and thought it held up really well.

So, the 3DS version of Master Quest actually mirrors the whole world. It doesn’t make it any more difficult, though. It also makes enemies deal twice the damage. The Spirit Temple was indeed the one temple that confused me (and probably confused me in past runs) because you have to go in as an adult, leave, return as a kid, return as an adult and get a chest to appear in a room only accessible as a kid, return as a kid, and finally return as an adult to finish the dungeon. It’s a puzzle that does not work with the time travel theme of the game. Getting a chest in the future to appear should not have it appear in the past. I didn’t find Ganon’s Tower any more or less difficult than the original. The entrance is even easier to get through since there are no bombos to annoy you (but they’re easily ignored in the original). Majora’s Mask was tweaked slightly for 3DS. You can permanently save at any owl statue now. There are two fishing spots (I never found them, though). You also have free camera movement if you have the right nub (which all New 3DS have). All the bosses have dumb balloons that are their weak spot because people only ever become dumb. I’m not sure what else was changed. The interface is the same as OoT3D. I like it, though. I liked the N64 original too, enough that I actually beat it before OoT! These days, however, I’ve beaten OoT more than MM. There’s something about OoT that’s more streamlined. I like the planning that goes into MM, though. I love both games, honestly. Twilight Princess HD is the best version of TP or so I believe. The colors pop more and it feels snappier. I’m really close to setting my Wii U back up just to play it again, although I’m also considering just setting up a Wii U emulator on my PC. I’m also hoping for a surprise TP HD for Switch reveal but I’m not holding my breath.
