This game gets my ringing endorsement. Many RTS lovers say that the genre was at its best on PC in the '90s, so I'm not surprised. I remember Dungeon Keeper being well received in its day. It was one of the '90s games designed by Peter Molyneux that made him a (pre- Lionhead Studios) golden boy, along with his other works such as Theme Park, Populous, and Powermonger. I've personally never played this game, but your description fits what I imagined it to be. Albeit the exploration aspect (via tunneling) sounds more involved than I expected. Molyneux didn't have anything to do with the sequel though. He said of the sequel, "He 'liked what they did with it', but also said that it was not precisely what he would have done and that his focus would have been 'expanding that sense of creating the greatest dungeon'. Congrats on Dungeon keeper and I basically agree with everything said. I particularly loved the idea of reversing the roles of hero vs dungeon master. It is sad that the second game is simply not good.

It is sad that the second game is simply not good. Thanks for the warning about Dungeon Keeper 2. I also noticed Ex mentioned that Peter Molyneux had nothing to do with DK2. Upon finishing DK1 I felt, I might be willing to try the sequel. But I simply have far too many games on my plate to spend any time on it if it's not as good as the first one. So, I'll save myself the heartbreak. Was Peter Molyneux the same guy in charge of Black and White? I have that on my shelf, too. It's one of the reasons I extended my 90's PC gaming marathon by another year, as an online friend from when I was in high school had recommended it to me. I always intended to play it but never got around to it. But if the brains behind Dungeon Keeper had anything to do with it, I need to make it a priority. I'll take it.

Let's see if the network holds up long enough for another post...
Anyway, two other arcade games: P.O.W. and TMNT. The former is a sentimental favorite, even if it can be a lot cheaper than I remember. Probably because I'm more familiar with the NES version, which is a pretty solid game. I'll at least give this a 6.5/10, and it's close to a 7 for me.
The other, I know folks need no introduction to. It's a fantastic arcade brawler that has little depth (although more than you'd think on the surface) but makes up for it in sheer pizazz. Gonna give this an 8.5/10 at minimum. It can be a little repetitive, like all brawlers, and I've probably played through the game too many times adding to the repetition, but I also feel like it holds up better than The Simpsons, which for some reason always feels significantly longer (and it is longer, I just don't know how much longer). My TMNT run only took 30 minutes.

Probably, yeah. It was certainly a staple in every arcade I ever visited.
Funnily enough, I never saw Turtles in Time in an arcade.

Was Peter Molyneux the same guy in charge of Black and White? Peter Molyneux designed and did some of the programming for Black & White, but he did not direct it. It was a hugely ambitious project and went through some development hell. Upon release B&W received widespread praise, I personally knew PC gamers in real life that loved it. The game incorporates aspects of Populous and Dungeon Keeper, you may enjoy it. Personally it didn't do anything for me, but I've yet to play any Molyneux game that has.

Made a run through Sengoku Blade on Saturn. Pretty fun shooter that thankfully lets you continue infinitely, albeit at the beginning of each stage. You have to play quite well in the last stage to stand a chance against the last boss, mainly because you need those bombs when the shots come hot and heavy.
Also, the shrine maiden girl got real busty between this and Sengoku Ace. Just so y'all know.
Anyway, 7.5/10, took about 40 minutes.
