Yeah once upon a time game manuals were both really important, and fairly entertaining. Replacementdocs.com used to be THE place to download game manuals, but sadly despite the website still existing, all their PDF files seem to have been deleted off the server. Nowadays I tend to check a GameFAQs walkthrough just for controls information, or item descriptions, stuff that a manual would have likely had anyway. segaretro.org has tons of manuals (most of them?) for games released on Sega systems, but unfortunately there's no Nintendo or Sony equivalent that I know (there's a necretro.org, but it's still in early stages).

Nintendo would probably shut it down.

...then start selling collectible mini-manuals in limited quantities, but only for 20 games or so.

Not sure how you guys feel about pay services, but EmuMovies.com has a ton of manual scans for all manner of systems. It might be slightly overkill if you were only after manuals (most people use EmuMovies for the full assortment of emulator front end media), but it really is a nice resource. They also allow some degree of free access, but it's been quite a while since I used their free access. Certainly an option though!

I've never even heard of that site until you mentioned it, but it's nice to have another option besides GameFAQs.
