Looking forward to your thoughts on those in 2030.

Looking forward to your thoughts on those in 2030. I forecast Sarge will regret buying SoulCalibur Legends by 2030.

I'm wondering if he even played Nioh or Doom 2016 yet? Something tells me you scoop up sequels before playing the first releases too though Ex... I'm not sure I've ever done that without having played one entry to gauge my interest in the rest of it.

Something tells me you scoop up sequels before playing the first releases too though I've certainly done that in the past, when collecting for a new (to me) platform. I'll make a list of all the highly rated games (in genres I care about) and start buying. So one ends up with sequels before having played the first entry in a series (though also owning the originator).
It'd be ideal to play through the first game before buying sequels sure, but I don't even remotely have enough free time to play every game that interests me within its release window. And I don't want to miss out on buying games I'd probably like, while said games are still at reasonable prices and readily available. Basically it's a result of having more disposal income than disposable time.

Well we were just talking about me and maybe Sarge or others missing out on some affordable 3DS game prices, so yeah. I can see the positives there. Kind of future proofing/investing in games. You all are just reminding me how everyone has their own method to the simple collecting aspect of gaming. I'm usually just teasing, never knocking how anyone would spend their own money. Some of you here have a LOT, but I've seen others in the past where it truly looked like more of an actual problem, haha. As long as you're still playing a few games a year, I don't see any harm in it. But if someone finds themselves going years without playing games, with a stockpile of hundreds or thousands of games sitting around... something went wrong!

Kind of future proofing/investing in games. That's it in a nutshell for me. Buy now, play later. Build up a library for future retirement. In my household, we have a weekly budget that I attempt to stick to. My current weekly personal entertainment budget is $70. I spend that amount on video games, analog games, or books every week. Which given how expensive everything in life has become, is not hard to do.

I think I should have ordered those other games. Apparently I wasn't supposed to get Nioh 2 for $9; they already halved the price on it, and they let the 50% off kick in for a double discount. It's not showing up like that in my cart now. Could have gotten Doom Eternal for like $13.50. And no, I haven't finished Doom 2016, why do you ask?

Well, that makes two of us. Mainly because I know that the style of play there isn't going to appeal like the first two games.

Yeah the "Demon in the closet says boo!" thing gets old fast.
