So this is a dub. The original game has very little text, just a short intro and a little more at the end. The ending text was already in English, though, so all it adds is a voiceover of those few lines of intro text. They also changed the audio balancing to make the music louder, as apparently it was drowned out by the sound effects.
This is a Techno Soft shooter, so the game itself might be worth checking out. Also notable for having 2-player co-op, which is rare in old-school shmups.

According to the RHDN entry there is also some text clean up:
"Script injections which include fixes to typos in the original English portions of the game"
So less Engrish as it were.

I always forget if I've played this one. Kind of a generic title amongst the other Techno Soft hits, but I know people like this one and it has another great OST.

"Comvoy"... another case of the box art misspelling the game's name. "Convoy" is the name of Optimus Prime in Japan.
The 1986 Famicom action-platformer Transformers: Convoy no Nazo ( Transformers: Mystery of Convoy) has received a new English fan translation: www.romhacking.net/translations/7328/The previous English fan translation released in 2009: www.romhacking.net/translations/1390/
