I also played the first world of Bomberman 64 and it is okay. Throwing and kicking bombs are the satisfying actions you'll be doing in this game, but the lack of precision and the even greater lack of demands on the player will probably make the game something I won't feel engrossed in. I'm planning to play another world at least. I go through almost the same thing with every Bomberman. I know they add specials, or bosses, but the gameplay is so similar that is seems like the same game.
Well, expect maybe Saturn Bomberman with up to 10 players. The most I got was 5 people playing at the same time.

I've been grappling with this problem. I have 10 Saturn controllers (well, 8 and 2 joysticks), but getting 10 people interested in playing has been nigh impossible, and keeping all the controllers is just extra space, which is tight in New York City, as you can imagine.
Do I keep it all in hopes that 9 people want to play all at once and will find it rewarding or do I sell it all and just stick to the Super Nintendo 5 player games?
Decisions, decisions...

Beat the "Hard course" with A. Stewart in Wace Race 64. Handling and Top Speed set to maximum to help her poor maximum speed, and Grip set to minimum to help her poor turning radius.
Wave Race 64 has an interesting system to control progression within the sequence of races. First, you can't retry races *at all* so you only have 1 shot at earning a respectable number of points in each race. But you also can't advance to the next race if your point total so far isn't high enough to "qualify" for advancement. Too low and you game over back to the title screen. This is fine but it consistently produces funny moments when you think too hard about why a championship organizer would do this (or why this requirement only seems to apply to the player). And it's not like failing to qualifying means you are obviously doing poorly -- normally you would game over while still being 2nd or 3rd out of four. Just moments ago I completed the final race in the Hard course with a 3rd place finish. Out of 4 racers, 3 of us were tied at 27 points total. But a racer needed 30 points to "qualify" in this round, lol -- "no one gets the gold trophy, now scram!"

Today in Mario 64 I got the 120th star, beat the final Bowser, and met Yoshi.

Today in Mario 64 I got the 120th star, beat the final Bowser, and met Yoshi. Now you're ready for the [amazing] Super Mario Sunshine! Yeah! I'm not as nostalgic for that one though so while I will beat the final Bowser, I probably won't do a 100% run. (Also I have Mario 64 almost completely memorized, so that one is easier for me to complete 100%.) I heard a rumor somewhere online that Nintendo might make a Mario Kart All Stars for Nintendo Switch. I wish so badly that they would! I love Mario Kart Double Dash. My brother and I would spend hours playing it together. I tried playing it with him in 4K using Dolphin on my PC and my mom's 60 inch 4K TV, but the emulator couldn't seem to handle Gamecube controllers properly. So we settled for 480p on my Wii U instead. But 1080p Mario Kart Double Dash on Nintendo Switch would be an insta-buy for me.

Well, my [amazing] was sarcasm for, replace the word in the bracket with something negative. I too had just about zero nostalgia for Sunshine. Only played around in the first two worlds or something back in the day. I don't know if you saw in the retro threads, but I played Sunshine first on this collection and beat it with 70 stars. It was a mostly painful and bad experience, with a few moments of fun. Glad I played it I guess, but it's the weakest of the 3D Mario's to me by miles. I'll be curious to see your own thoughts if you give it a shot. I've got about 20 stars on SM64 in this collection. I may or may not keep going, since I played it to death back in the day and know it so well myself. It's kind of hit that overplayed territory for me, or it's just not a good idea to play these big 3D platformers back to back less you hit some burnout (having fun with Crash 4 though, which is different enough). I think I only did 120 stars once though, back on the N64. I'm usually pretty satisfied just seeing the credits roll. Stuff like "collect 100 coins per level" nowadays is one of my least favorite goals in these. But yeah related to the subject here, SM64 holds up really well to me for the most part. It still feels great to control and Mario plays better in it than he does in Sunshine somehow, haha. By watching this clip anayo I can tell you've got it down really well too. It's criminal they took out the long jump in Sunshine.

Really getting into Mystical Ninja. After getting used to the camera, I'm having a blast exploring the overworld and beating the dungeons. The map is useless, though it doesn't get in the way if you are not trying to locate every single collecatble item to increase your health points. Really wish Konami developed a new 3D Goemon game that fixed this one's flaws.

I'll be curious to see your own thoughts if you give it a shot. I like Sunshine now more than when it came out. When it came out I resented it because Mario 64 was a revolutionary, earth-shattering game for me when it came out, but Mario Sunshine didn't bring as much to the table. Since then I've grown more fond of it. Understandable. I have to be in the right frame of mind to replay Mario 64. I got it out on my N64 a few months ago and just wasn't feeling it. I'm not crazy about the 100 coins per level stars, either. I procrastinated most of those until the end. But then after getting all the "fun" stars I had a long list of "not fun" stars I had to collect. I am 100% convinced Mario 64 holds up because the camera is WAY more of a pain in the ass than I remember it being in 1998, yet in 2020 I wanted to keep collecting stars anyway. It totally delivers on the "fun quotient". I find it funny you think that I control Mario 64 well. I was somewhat self conscious because I watch a lot of Mario 64 speed runners and those people make me feel inadequate. lol I've heard nothing but good things about these. Once about 20 years ago my brother went to a friend's house where he played one of the Goemon games. He said it was a lot of fun, especially the part where he got inside a giant robot and fought another ninja inside his own robot. I myself actually have Mystical Ninja Goemon's Adventure on N64 and should give it a spin whenever I get around to focusing on N64 for a while.

I always laugh and tend to forget that there's even some context for the camera, being some cloud/koopa guy apparently filming Mario's adventure.
Of the 3D Mario's, I think Sunshine speedruns are probably the most impressive. I've only seen some of a run maybe once or twice, but the way they dominate those non-FLUDD levels is insane. Since the controls are so slippery in this one, I can't even fathom how hard it is to master and get the mechanics down like they do.
