Oh, one thing I wanted to mention for a while. You know that Genesis strategy game Lord Monarch that was recently fan-translated? The original computer game was by Falcom, but the Genesis version, which has an all-new story, was made by the Gun Hazard team (which split off from NCS/Masaya). Same director and everything.

Y's V (SNES) seemed really weird from the little I played. Maybe it just has a rough start?
I guess I should prioritize Brandish 2 for my next SNES ARPG.

I can't even remember when I last tried it, so it's probably been 10+ years. So far I haven't liked any of the Y's games I've played (two of the bump system ones, some version of III, some of the PSP era ones), but V seems like the one that I would most likely enjoy. Who knows though.

Brandish 2 for my next SNES ARPG. Brandish 2 is excellent, but I strongly recommend playing through some version of the original Brandish first. As the game is a plot-sequel to the first entry. I recommend emulating via PPSSPP this version of the original Brandish: I'd be surprised if you didn't enjoy the first two Brandish entries, as they are dark and difficult action-RPG dungeon crawlers. I like to call them " Zelda for grown ups". Ys V on SFC was Falcom's attempt at making a more typical SNES action-RPG, as was the vogue format of the time. I think it's pretty good, it's just way too easy. You'll have it knocked out in no time. There's also an Ys V on PS2, but it's in a completely different format than the SFC ("SNES") one.

I called Dark Revenant a "designed rogue-like". It's really, really good. The PSP version is absolutely where I'd play it - the SNES version is rough since it doesn't sport an on-screen mini-map to help you navigate more effectively.

I'm looking at some screenshots. The complexity and scale of the minimaps got me drooling.

I like to call them "Zelda for grown ups". I called Dark Revenant a "designed rogue-like". I call it "2D Dark Souls"! I call it "40 floors for dudes who score"! I call them "Hardcore dungeon-only Alundra with weird cameras"! I call them "third-person first-person dungeon crawlers"! I call them "dungeon strafers"! "Post-puberty Falcom"! "Top-down tough guy games"! "Escape from New York, but New York is a dungeon"! I have so many names for them! Anyway, yeah, give them a shot. Ex and Sarge will tell you to play the PSP remake of the first game, but the SNES port is dope too.

Haha, I like several of those descriptions.
