The SNES did that a lot back then. DKC, Star Fox, Super Mario RPG, etc. F-Zero was another technical marvel in its day. Even the Mode-7 effects in Super Mario World were outstanding in 1990. I've beaten the AGTP version of SF2, and the SNES Classic Edition version. I recommend the Classic Edition version. Edit: Yes you can find the SNES:CE SF2 ROM around. That's why I've not played it yet. I own a copy though. I'm interested in the the graphical splendor Rare accomplished on the GameCube, but outside the technical aspect, I don't know about that game design. Command is a good one. It mixes strategy with Star Fox flying/shooting. I liked it quite a bit, but it flew under many radars.

I liked Star Fox Adventures, but of course I would.

Dang, I forget Rare did SF Adventures. Well if this is a plus, from my memories that game was nothing like Banjo Kazooie or DK64. It wasn't another crazy Rare collectathon platformer. They were definitely going for Zelda-Lite. Sarge: Yeah, I think I could see a R&C styled formula working for Mega Man too. If only we got Legends 3 and maybe even more of those and then X7-X8 were scrapped for better projects, like this R&C styled idea. That Mega Man X RPG Command Mission seems alright though.

I still need to finish Command Mission one day. I can't say I was astounded by it, but it is solid.
And yeah, it's clearly a Zelda-like, and plays very differently from their N64 platformers. And it's awesome that Dinosaur Planet showed up on N64 - very cool to see things that would end up in the GC version after a major retool.

So Shadowrun has seen a mouse hack again... except this time, it's not via Lua scripts and a specific emulator, but actual hardware. Very, very cool. www.patreon.com/posts/63474521

I'm not a massive fan of the original Star Fox, but this is still super cool: it has been hacked to use the Super FX 2 instead of the original version. The second revision was clocked much faster, so there are some pretty significant speed improvements. www.romhacking.net/hacks/6333/Hard to say if I like this or not, after playing two levels tonight.
This is like playing the SEGA Saturn version of Thunder Force IV on the "Gold" collection that contains TF3-4. With that version, it uses the extra Saturn juice and so all that lag is gone, thus making the game even harder. lol
This seems to smooth up Star Fox by just simply speeding it all up... which means you gotta be faster too. Maybe I'm just so accustomed to the original since I played it to death growing up, but yeah. Was a little weird playing this hack.

"A few days ago" cracks me up. Got a prodigy here. Hope this project gets finished (next week? lol), I'd absolutely play this.

This is pretty fascinating. I've always liked MMX5 a lot and maybe even more than X4, but MMX5 definitely gets in its own way throughout the whole experience. The slow and constant Alia tutorials always tick me off and the whole weird time based stuff per playthrough that can lock out content...
Might have to give this a shot sometime.

Cutscenes and dialogues skip by pressing START This should be mandatory in every game with cutscenes.
