This is... actually good, not even just as a parody. I'll admit here that Baby One More Time has some really good melodies and production, and the Rammstein vibe works really well with the "I must confess" part. Actually reminded me of System of a Down in that moment, too. The way their singer gets into that almost mystical vein sometimes.
Fun fact: Max Martin, the Swedish guy that wrote and co-produced the song, was the lead singer in a metal band in the '80s. So there's a legitimate metal connection to Baby One More Time already.
Ok, it was a "glam-style funk metal band", as per wikipedia.
This is them:
Definitely very pop. It starts like a Prince song and turns into a less catchy Aerosmith after a while.

So, I got to the final encounter in Baldur’s Gate and… I can’t seem to find a way to even stand a chance, let alone win. I think I may have missed many side quests considering the HLTB lists it as a 40-80+ hour game and my time is listed around 30 hours. My party is around level 6 which I thought was pretty high for this game. I’m a bit D&D’d out, or perhaps Baldur’s Gate’d out and I reached the final encounter. I watched the ending on YouTube and I feel like I’m not missing much. I may return someday but for now, I will concede defeat to Baldur’s Gate. It was fun but I got tired.

Does sound like you got to the final boss quickly. I had over 30 hours invested before I even reached the city of Baldur's Gate. At any rate you at least saw all of the main campaign, which is not something I can say.

It’s not like I didn’t stop to smell the roses here and there but it mostly all on the way to my next objective. I’m not the kind of player that can spend hours exploring aimlessly if I have a clear objective. Like, I do like exploring but it is usually in the service of some objective.

That's interesting. I tend to make a mental distinction when it comes to side-questing - if it's an older game (pre-PS2, I'd say), I'll do all the side-quests, no question, because there usually aren't that many, the games are usually not that long, and they're usually substantial, with a self-contained little story, maybe a unique boss fight, so I enjoy them. Nobody's gonna ask you to get 10 pelts in a SNES RPG. With more modern games, I might skip a lot of them, if they're just pointless busywork, and won't go out of my way to find them all if there's literally 100 (I think that was the case with Yakuza - when I played the first two games, I did put some time in the biggest side-quests, like running the hostess club in 2, but I know I missed a ton that I just didn't come across on my wanderings).

I love filling in maps, that's what I got addicted to with Baldur's Gate. I wanted to explore the entire countryside and fill in all my maps. As I result I came across a lot of hidden treasure, fought more battles (thus leveled up more often), and found a few hidden dungeons. This all compounded into a party that would slaughter anything it came across easily. But I've no idea how I would have fared against the final boss. Once I reached the city itself I was burned out. Wish I'd just finished it. Eh maybe someday.

So, I did fill my maps up. I think I was feeling fatigued during the last couple of play sessions in which I had managed to uncover a conspiracy central to the main plot and was about to expose it. I basically had the main bad guy on the run. But I was just… I don’t know, tired? Maybe it was simply a bad day for me. But yeah, nothing kills my motivation more than to reach the very end of the game after a long, winding dungeon and be slaughtered nearly immediately several times. There’s another encounter right outside that I skipped because they also slaughtered me immediately. It was at that point that I could hear the developers telling me “you should’ve done more stuff in our world, go back and do that stuff” and I replied “thanks, I’m just going to watch the ending on YouTube and move on to Baldur’s Gate II. Eventually.”
