Steam Controllers being cleared out. $5 + $7.99 S/H. I think at that price I'm willing to take a stab; I've always been curious about how I could set it up for couch play for PC games that are better with mouse/keyboard.

Briefly made a stab at our local GameStop and Walmart. GameStop was pretty quiet, actually, since they'd started at 3PM. Only picked up one thing there: Metal Wolf Chaos XD. Went to Walmart, and the throng was so large that both the bro and I decided noooooope. I might slip out briefly tomorrow, but with all the online options available, I'm not going to stress it.

You crazy. I was going to do some gift shopping this weekend... until I realized what weekend it is. I'm staying home!

Well, my town isn't that big, so most folks go to places like Jackson or Tupelo. Looking around after the rush isn't bad here.

Well, I'm back from a jaunt over to the next town. Traffic wasn't too bad, but I didn't find much at the retro store, either. They tend to get cleaned out on these big sales... and I was a big part of that earlier this year, haha! Just picked up a couple of cheap disc-only PSP games: Sonic Rivals 2 and Assassin's Creed: I Don't Remember the Subtitle for $1.50 a piece.
Then went to GameStop, and was going to get Control and DMC5 new. Well, the case was gone for DMC5, so I ended up swapping to used for both, and got Etrian Odyssey V as my freebie. Not terrible, although the DMC5 case is slightly water-damaged, and the game was clearly a former rental (probably Redbox). As long as it works, though, it'll be fine, because all that ran me just over $50.

got Etrian Odyssey V as my freebie Good choice. Nice pick up on Metal Wolf Chaos XD too! I've had the PC version of that one for a while now, still haven't gotten around to playing it yet though.

Super happy I didn't bite on Guacamelee One-Two Punch earlier on. I didn't buy that night because I wanted to add another game for free shipping from Amazon, and it sold out. Didn't have it in store. Would have been $24.99.
Well, Best Buy had it for Cyber Monday for $19.99, and I still have active GCU for just a bit longer, bringing it down to $16. Sold!

Talking Chess Academy by iCore, produced in 2019. Yeah, went ahead and picked up that third chess computer. Being still in production, this one only cost $53 off Amazon with free shipping. What I like about owning three different chess machines is each one had a different programmer, so the algorithms should all be different. Using these machines I hope to break that 2000 ELO rating by this time next year. Something I never did as a teen... maybe in middle age? Just a personal goal, I'll stop boring you guys with this stuff now.

Nah, I find that very interesting. I used to be into chess when I was younger, too, but haven't played in years and years. No idea what my ELO rating would be, but at least I know what you're talking about with ELO, since that's used a lot for sports teams, too.

at least I know what you're talking about with ELO, since that's used a lot for sports teams Yep it's a metric that can be used to measure many different activities. You've probably got an ELO over 9000 versus platformers.
