Here's a video from that game. Looks like something a lot of people here would like. Definitely looks fun. Hopefully it'll get an English fan translation someday. ninjamasterYes a few of us here are familiar with the Votoms manga and anime. I've not watched much of it, Xeogred may have though. He and I are probably the biggest mecha fans here.

Yeah that Votoms game looks freaking good. What really fancies me is how the game has remixed BGM from the anime.

Macross for Saturn is one of my fav game! I've never played that myself, though I'm hardly a Saturn fan to be fair. I had heard of it previously though. My favorite mecha games are the Armored Core and Front Mission series. Outstanding stuff.

I think I downloaded that one, actually. Would be interesting to give it a go one of these days.

I'm okay with calling the PS2 the greatest console of all time.
I'mma let you finish, but the NES was the great console of all time.
The PS2 is the latest I go these days, though if it weren't for 3D racers and a handful of nostalgic memories, I probably wouldn't own it either. But 3D racing hit the absolute pinnacle in 6th gen 3D, and the PS2 had all the good ones (Outrun 2006, Need for Speed, Burnout 3).
On topic of the thread, I never hear anything about Extreme G Racing III, but it's one of my all time favorites. Even today I think it wipes the floor with Wipeout. I remember liking the N64 ones back in the day, but this was the only one in the series I really just loved.

the NES was the great console of all time As someone who enthusiastically played the NES in the late '80s and early '90s, I understand where you are coming from with that statement. I wouldn't fault anyone who stops at the sixth generation. I'm glad to see we've got a 3D racing fan on HRG. I'm not sure if we've ever head a specific thread for 3D racers or not. I'll look into it. I agree 100% that 3D racing reached its apex in the sixth generation. But as to the rest of your statement, I don't agree about PS2 having all the good ones. The PS2 didn't have the unbelievably amazing F-Zero GX (GameCube) or the forgotten gem Quantum Redshift (Xbox), for example. But the PS2 did have an incredible selection of excellent 3D racers no doubt. A testament to the PS2's gargantuan library's breadth in general.
I will agree with you wholeheartedly that the Extreme G series is better than Wipeout, no contradictions here.
I finished a few Extreme G racers back in the day, including XGIII: Extreme G Racing on GameCube. The one I liked the most was XGRA: Extreme G Racing Association. I played through that one on Xbox, but it also appeared on PS2 and GameCube. It's interesting that only one series entry made it to PC; Extreme-G 2.

I liked 3D racers in the Saturn days, but I was always bad at them. Out of any genre I've played at least a somewhat significant amount of time, it's easily the one I'm worst at.
