The Anniversary Edition is pretty nice Does it make driving the warthog any better?

The warthog controls in Halo are... amazing? I'd have a hard time thinking of something better. lol

I think I only have the original and a burned copy of the PC release. I'll likely play it as it originally was for authenticity.

I'd go with Xbox then. The CE release was two years later (with some cool new maps for multiplayer and crazy custom gaming memories for me), but you can also absolutely tell this series was designed around a controller. Ex : The AE release lets you change back to the original graphics and vice versa with a single button, which is a cool novelty. So yeah it's the same engine/tech and all under the hood though, nothing is changed. You need some more bad 6th/7th gen TPS/FPS's in your life... never really hear anyone dogging the controls in Halo. Guess we'll see what Sarge thinks.

I've played at least a bit of Halo, probably an hour or so of the campaign and some deathmatch. I'm not awful at it, and the controls are pretty great. The Warthog takes some adjustment, but once you get it, it's fine, too.

You need some more bad 6th/7th gen TPS/FPS's in your life... I have beaten a few 6/7th console-based FPS and TPS. Including Halo and Halo 2 in their original Xbox incarnations. I beat those two co-op via split-screen, which made them somewhat enjoyable. Campaign-wise these were bland and repetitive for my tastes (especially The Library ). The real fervor was always about the online/LAN play, which I did not engage with. I'm not a big Halo fan but I have more of the games on Xbox 360 as yet unplayed. 6/7th gen console-based FPS I enjoyed and recommendBlack Call of Juarez Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Far Cry Instincts Evolution Half-Life: Decay Men of Valor Project: Snowblind Star Wars: Republic Commando TimeSplitters: Future Perfect Urban Chaos: Riot Response 6/7th gen console-based TPS I enjoyed and recommendAlpha Protocol Armored Core 2 Armored Core 2: Another Age Army of Two Army of Two: The 40th Day Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel Binary Domain Bionic Commando (2009) Chromehounds Earth Defense Force 2025 Gun Mass Effect 1-3 MechAssault MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Red Dead Redemption Resident Evil 5 Sleeping Dogs Spec Ops: The Line The Last of Us Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 1-3 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction Tomb Raider (2013) Vanquish Those are the GOOD games. I've beaten/dropped plenty of bad 6/7th gen FPS/TPS. I don't think the Halo games are bad, just kinda vanilla for my taste. >never really hear anyone dogging the controls in Halo Concerning the original Halo the FPS controls were fine. A lot of people did not like the warthog controls though.

I'm planning to give the original Devil May Cry another go this weekend. Maybe I'll find it more entertaining now than I did in 2007.

I'm really hoping you enjoy it. I had a blast with it when I played through it again, but I think I'm wired for these sorts of games with light adventure elements and fast skill-based combat.

If anything, it's hard as balls. Have fun!

It's a third person action-adventure game with excellent exploration and copious environmental puzzles to solve. It should right up your alley Sarge.
