Sarge : Did you get that Joyzz controller? It looks a bit bigger and with a better grip curve on the ends. I wonder if it feels better than this. No, and I've been a little concerned going for these third-party controllers after my less-than-stellar experience with the SN30 Pro. The fact that I'm going to need to "fix" the d-pad on it is ridiculous. I also hate to say it, but I'm not completely sold on KRIKzz's line of products. I have EverDrives that work well (TED, MED, GB), but the NES has been dicey from the word go, and to be honest he has one of the worst community managers I've ever seen. Ridiculously hyper-defensive about things. He also sometimes comes across that way, although some of that might be the language barrier.

I don't think Krikzz is going to last then, with these Retro-Bit controllers being officially endorsed by Sega and are incredibly affordable. Check out those video reviews, I think they look real legit. I'll probably order a USB variant of the Genesis and Saturn ones. Ex : Please excuse how grimey my old used Sega controllers are, but here you go: imgur.com/a/Hjc5fdA (few pics)
Still smaller than the Saturn controller, but the Saturn controller has longer legs too.

Well Xeogred, that answers that question. The Genesis pad is indeed beefier.

Yep, lol.
I've ordered the Retro-Bit USB Genesis pad and should get it by Friday, so I'll report on that. I'll probably get the Saturn one next week too or sometime.

The Retrobit is in (top right), and I think THIS IS IT fellas.
So, you can see it's still fairly small. Aren't the official Genesis 6-pads too though? Regardless, the more curved shape is a subtle yet complete game changer. I also love how beefy the 10 FEET USB cord is. The controller could maybe have a little more weight to it, but it's weightier than the 8bitdo one for sure. The d-pad feels dramatically better, it's not weird and soft like that one was. There are shoulder buttons that seems subpar, but those are bonus new buttons that might not get any use from me anyways.
I gave it the first level Hard Corps, Shinobi III, and Streets of Rage 2 test, and I'm loving this thing. I'll still probably get the Saturn variant and maybe that one will be the best, but I'm super satisfied with this one. FINALLY, I think we have the Buffalo SNES answer for Sega!
Plus the official endorsement is such a nice touch... it's sick looking down and seeing SEGA on the front and nothing else. Legit!

So I just went a different route. I've been eyeballing a Retrode 2 for a long, long time, and the stars finally aligned for me to get one. $25 store credit at Stone Age Gamer + 15% off today, so I got it for around $48 shipped. For those that don't know, the Retrode 2 is a ROM dumper that handles SNES and Genesis by default... and it also has controller ports to use original hardware on PC. Two SNES ports and two Genesis ports. Can't get more authentic than that! stoneagegamer.com/retrode-2-cart-reader-rom-dumper-for-super-nintendo-genesis-more.html

After beating Mike Tyson's Punch Out I am suuuuper distrustful of wireless controllers. I think they only add some odd 20 ms of latency, but that can mean the difference between life and death.

In most games, it's not a big deal. I can use wireless on most NES games, even. But MTPO has some of the tightest timing windows that I know of for any game, so just a frame or two makes a difference. I can't remember, but weren't you emulating as well before swapping to original hardware? That will add a touch more lag on top.
