Thankfully once you crack open a door, you can just walk through it to force the rest open. That's my method now haha.
Enjoying it a lot so far beyond that, good stuff. I just hope there's more than a goofy evil dog that chases you. The sound design is creepy and amazing though.

I still want to give Doctor Hauzer a shot. Apparently it's a really short game. I've also read that there's an option in 4DO to overclock the CPU so it runs faster, though I don't know if I'll use it).

How have I not heard of this until now? By Riverhillsoft, no less. It's an obscure Japanese only early 3DO release. It only recently received an English translation. I'd never heard of it either, until the translation released.

It looks like Penumbra has 4 main sections. I've made it to the second one, still the mines, but more industrial and dug in. Also found out I can just kill the dogs with the pitch axe...

I know that Dr. Hauzer was also run at a GDQ event. It looked... interesting.

IT'S TIME...
Penumbra is good, maybe I'll get back to it. But I just want to play...
(we're playing with horror loosely here, I say it counts!)
My personal FINAL CHAPTER in the ultimate From Software King's Field / Shadow Tower / Soulsbornekiro saga. IT'S TIME!!!!
I just wonder if someone has any guesses about this graphical weirdness in the menus...

That's probably the de-interlacing settings. Maybe swap from bob to weave or something, or up the internal resolution.

King's Field IV AKA King's Field: The Ancient City, is straight up horror dungeon crawling. Definitely fits. KF4 was not the first FromSoftware first person dungeon crawler I beat. The first for me was Eternal Ring. But, KF4 was the first KF that I beat. It's the KF that got me hooked on the series. After KF4, I went back to KF1 and did everything in order. Xeogred you are in for an amazing treat. As for that blurry menu weirdness, I'm guessing that's some kind of emulation issue. Likely interlacing issue 'cause game was meant to be seen on a CRT. With PCSX2 you can likely fix the issue using: King's Field: The ancient City - NTSC CRC - 36E02E91 patch=1,EE,202218B4,extended,00000000 patch=1,EE,2022193C,extended,00000000 patch=1,EE,0021F710,word,00000000 This hack will also fix the FMV Source: forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-No-interlacing-codes?page=45Page 1 of that thread explains the issue and how to implement it. This video goes into more detail: Edit: Ninja'd by Sarge but yeah.
