GaGatari but with a ton of flash-like homages to old games. Kind of cool in concept. Atari as a brand is such an empty shell, though. Isn't it just a name that been bought and sold by rando corporations for decades now? With literally no connection to its past? Those banners say "Atari 50 years", but the real Atari lasted maybe half that.

Atari Mania is a good game. Unfortunately it launched in a pretty bad state and was subsequently patched -- not soon enough to stop the deluge of early negative reviews. The pitfalls of modern digital gaming. Modern "Atari" (basically now a reissue machine and a publisher for various outfits) is actually pumping out some pretty decent stuff. The Recharged line, Akka Arrh, Mr. Run and Jump, the new Haunted House, and qomp (which literally just got a sequel yesterday) are all solid. The new Lunar Lander looks promising. Atari 50 was their best compilation yet. I'm a big fan.

Atari 50 was their best compilation yet. Thanks for reminding me that exists, I still gotta nab a copy. Is this any good?:

Yes but keep in mind that there's some overlap between what's contained on that compilation and Atari 50..... but not as much as you'd think. I recommend both.

Bonding over our shared hatred of Limited Run.

I'm so, so annoyed by this. I want this badly, but it's friggin' Limited Run. A shame, too - they're using Modern Vintage Gamer's Carbon Engine for this, and he at least seems like a good dude.

Yeah I'd buy a physical copy if it were coming a non-woke publisher. But as is, my wallet says NO.

"The Pokemon Company and developer Game Freak have announced Pokemon Legends: Z-A for Switch. It will launch in 2025 worldwide."
Never gonna understand the fervor for this series. Maybe because I'm gen X and not a millennial.
