I keep forgetting about that one. I have the XBOX version.

I'm not saying Demon Stone is amazing. But as a D&D licensed slash 'em up, it was better than I expected. Fairly short game too. You can knock it out in six hours or so. Which may seem long for a beat 'em up, but it's got lots of story and some RPG aspects.

Looks pretty good! I remember seeing that cover art around.

Looking at that footage reminds me just how much Western PC games are not my style visually, haha. It's all so drab, with the tiny characters... But it looks decent enough. I could have played that back in the day with a half a day to kill. Or like, if I was trapped in a cabin during a snowstorm but it had electricity and an old PC with that game installed.
I beat Dragon Spirit back in 2019, dope shooter.

Demon Stone, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and Dungeons & Dragons Heroes were all pretty fun hack and slash ARPG titles from the 6th gen. (I never managed to track down Dark Alliance II, though it appears to be on the Switch now!).

Yeah that reminds me those Dark Alliance games got some newer ports, last year it seems. Those always did look pretty cool and more my style than the hardcore CRPG ones.

I actually do have Dark Alliance 2 - the one I wish I'd grabbed in the day was the second Champions of Norrath game, which... huh, looks like the price is getting into reasonable territory again, might actually try to score a copy. I'm also quite close to both a complete PS2 RPG set (and PSX set). In fact, I think finishing those might be cheaper than the SNES, haha.

I'll have to check out DragonStrike then. Checked out DragonStrike on NES this evening. I like the concept of flying a dragon to do various missions (with varying objectives) and fighting bosses, but the execution is terrible. After twenty minutes I can safely say it sucks. I read the manual, I knew what I was doing, but the game is just amateur hour crud.
