The first comment over on their forum is right about this looking like a "fever dream" of something you thought maybe existed but never did, haha. Looks okay.

I like the look and how that's how the music actually sounds, since it's Mario CD. Though I'm not sure how coherent it is with the whole "1995 Mario CD" concept while also looking more 8-bit than 16-bit, just with better colors. It's looks like an early PC Engine CD game, maybe.
I wonder if they're just announcing this in advance so that Nintendo will stop them and they won't have to actually make the game. Or they're just weirdly naive. Everybody know that you wait until your Nintendo fangame is done before you put it out there.

Unless I'm unaware of it, has anyone tried imitating Sega's Super Scaler hardware before this?

Looks like a very legit Compile-style shooter. Pretty cool.

"Publisher PM Studios and Blade Assault developer Team Suneat have announced side-scrolling roguelite action platformer Dragon is Dead for PC (Steam). It will launch first in Early Access* on June 7, where it will remain over the course of a year."*Early Access = You pay to be a beta tester.

I'm so sick of this type of music. That fake super-epic nonsense that all sounds the same, as if the entire world was about to explode, even though this is just a mediocre roguelite Castlevania rip-off.

You're not wrong. I file this generic type of music under "typical Hollywood bombast OST".
