IIRC with PS3 you sometimes get one save file per system user profile. Which is very annoying. So I would assume that's what was meant for FF12 on PS4, that you only get that single save file for your profile. The Switch version has multiple save slots like the PS2 original does, so you can save your game to multiple slots along the way and revert back to one if need be. As for the job classes, yes, I took that to mean that you can switch mid game where as I guess originally you could not? Again, I've only ever played the original on PS2 and it's been years so I don't even recall the job system all that well. As for the FPS, a quick Google says that all of the console versions run at 30 FPS while the PC version can do 60 FPS. Although one person on a forum said the upgraded version of the Xbox One can do 60 FPS as well. To be honest, I don't really care if this game is 30 or 60 FPS.

Yeah, the original PS2 US release didn't have the job system. All the characters had a preset License Board. I think you maybe still play that way with the remasters, but it was interesting to do the job system variant. I don't know if there would ever have been a need to change them mid game, but who knows. That could be interesting if the Switch version allows that.
The 2x-4x speed up feature I used a lot in the PS4 version, made me enjoy the game more overall heh.

Hit 80% map completion in Y8s and I wager if there's any more stranded characters on the island, I only have a few left. I'm starting to max out some character affinities, some long side quest chains like the big white gorilla trainer dude, just one more left with him), etc. So definitely nearing the big final stretch I think. I adore that the game continues to send awesome new environments at me. The underwater temple dungeon deep into chapter 5 was awesome and visually one of the most detailed areas.
The Crypt dungeon with Dana and her ability to change styles, is so freaking good. They probably could have built an entire game around her solo mechanics and some of these ideas.
I feel like I'm probably ~80% into SMT Strange Journey now too. Slowly but surely, I will finish these games...

Nice progress man. And even though you've only got 20% left to explore in Ys8, it will still keep surprising you! There's also a post-game dungeon that unlocks if you get the true ending. I still haven't done that dungeon yet, but I definitely felt I got my money and then some out of the main campaign. I absolutely loved Dana's giant solo-dungeon. To me it felt like a sequel to Ys Origin all on its own. Just pure blitz-ass dungeon crawling with nothing but puzzles and fighting. Barely any story to in there to slow you down.

I sampled just enough of the older Ys games to get that same vibe too. It really feels like that Dana dungeon is probably a big throwback to the long time fans.
I went back to see your completion time, I'm still 20 hours shy of your 56 hours. So yeah maybe I have a lot left haha. Whenever I glance at HLTB, it sure looks like people just sped through this game and probably missed out on a lot. I thought I would rack up more time than the average here. I kind of assume playing on Hard all the enemies take longer to kill than lower difficulties.

I did nearly every optional thing you could do, including screwing around with crafting a whole lot. Got 100% exploration and 100% chest completion as well. Maybe you'll be over 50 hours by the time you finish, we'll see. But then again, you are the TURBO GAMER.

Chapter 6! Dang did 5 feel like the longest by miles haha. Just upgraded everyone's weapon to the final level, though not maxed out quite yet. It's cool that if you have the materials needed for a higher tier, you can completely skip all the upgrades on the current tier for whomever. If that makes sense. I barely use Sahad and Hummel so they were lagging behind, but it always feels good to have an outfitted full team just in case.
Finally got an item to let me kill undead creatures now too. That was a long time coming.
There were some swamps in the northwestern region, that were probably the most aggravating spots in the game haha. They had dinosaurs hanging out in the water and you move so slowly in that crap. Had to make sure I got all the treasures/materials at least.
The cloaked figure in black is SO Xenogears/Saga/Blade. Cracks me up.
