Ex I don't know, I enjoy horror in the rarer cases where it's actually scary rather than cheesy, but I'm the furthest from a daredevil in life. I'm the kind of person that's always weighing the risks of everything.

toei I'm not saying you have to have that "gene" to simply enjoy a scary video game. I've enjoyed beating certain scary video games. I'm saying someone with that "gene" (should it exist) would be predisposed to play scary video games a lot more often than someone who didn't. Case in point; I haven't known you personally to beat a whole lot of survival horror games. You tend to gravitate to obscure retro 2D platformers, 8/16-bit JRPGs, and old Japanese adventure games from what I've seen. Granted you may have beaten a lot of survival horror games pre-HRG though.

I've just spent a lot more time on 8, 16 and 32 bit consoles than anything else, and they don't have that many straight-up horror games. I've played or tried most of them, though. It's just that a lot of them that aren't Silent Hill or Resident Evil are thoroughly mediocre games, or corny and cheesy rather than scary.

I managed to get a half hour more into Fatal Frame II tonight. Made it to Chapter 2. I can already see a level of polish and technicality in this sequel surpassing what the original accomplished. I think I'm gonna like this one guys.

So, I didn't play much last night... but I did play some Resident Evil.
But not REmake.
I played the Game Boy Color prototype for a few minutes. Definitely interesting stuff there. The fact they even tried to port it impresses me.

I remember being excited when Resident Evil was announced for GBC. I agree it's noble Capcom considered the idea. Just so everybody knows, we're both talking about this: Not this: Capcom was also working on two Dino Crisis games for GBC (via third party devs), that never came to fruition. There are various videos about that on Youtube. Here's one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=whErNcfQubwAlso, this game is impressive (graphically) for being Game Boy Color survival horror: NOT saying it's a good game though. The audio alone is horrendous.

That RE prototype is pretty impressive. I don't think I would've ever wanted to play it considering it's just the same game downgraded, but as a technical achievement it's still nice.

Got a little more done tonight. Took out that beehive, figured out how to get into the lab, made some of that Volt-42 stuff, used it on the plant roots, watched it get killed by Barry with a flamethrower, and ended up saving at that point. I am once again out of save ribbons, but I figure more are coming soon. (Actually, I checked an item guide to make sure; I can make my trip back to the mansion more efficient than the last attempt, where I wasted enough junk and just said that's enough.)

I hate that Volt mixing puzzle haha. You don't do it in Chris' campaign. Love this Fatal Frame 2 tune:
