Your rankings is what I was hoping to get out of you and anyone else here that's maybe played them. I've seen a lot of people say Fallout 2 is better than the first, but your list says otherwise. So yeah I'd need to hear more compelling arguments for Fallout 2... but the combat still looks very similar which might be an issue for me. Thus I think Tactics does look a lot more interesting for now, I'll probably go for that one first. I strongly recommend Tactics over F2. Just be sure you play it in turn-based mode. And it's legit an RTFM game. Fallout 2 is really good, but it's a bit bloated and overly goofy at times. The original Fallout is leaner, meaner, and stays on point the entire way.

Well that's the best video game deal I've ever seen.

I'm planning on Beyond Oasis (Genesis), that looked the most interesting of the recommended. Seiken Densetsu 3 is a treat, but hopefully they has resolved all the game crashes.
What crashes? On real hardware or emulation?

I had hardware crashes on my SFC, namely a game freeze while playing.
Heh, I actually haven't done PC emulation in over a decade. For some reason I must play console games on a console. The reverse is not true--I did enjoy Starcraft for the N64. It was impressive how they got the controls to work well with a RTS. They also has split screen PvP, which I've been interested in trying, but I haven't found anyone able.

In New Vegas tonight, I obliterated the Legendary Deathclaw... so now I've taken down all five of the Legendary monsters in the game. I also tracked down and exploded Caesar into crimson confetti. I then visited Mr. House, didn't like his attitude, and so used him for chainsaw carving practice. I'm working with Yes Man now, or rather, I plan to make Yes Man work for me... while doing one last favor for the ol' NCR. I believe I am very close to finishing this game now, maybe even by weekend's end.

I believe I am very close to finishing this game now, maybe even by weekend's end. Well my prediction held; I finally beat Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition tonight. I'm too tired to write any kind of review of the game at present, but I'll do so when I have the energy and time. For now, just a few end game notes for Xeogred ... I ended up going with the No Gods, No Masters ending. I don't want to ruin what that is for future players, so I'll spoiler it: I utterly annihilated Caesar's Legion, ran the NCR out of the Mojave using my robot army, assassinated Mr. House, and liberated New Vegas into an independent nation.
My final stats were courier level 50, status "Messiah", all four DLCs completed, 78 quests completed, 311 locations discovered (and thoroughly explored), 2178 total things killed. Final save time: 116 hours 38 minutes. The longest amount of time I've ever put into one single video game. It was worth it, but I don't plan to surpass that amount of time via any other RPG anytime soon.

Congrats, man. Glad you took it down, and got so much out of it. Games that long that are worth playing are rare indeed.

I think that was the first ending I got myself, or something similar... taking matters into my own hands! Congrats on beating one of the best!

Games that long that are worth playing are rare indeed. I'll put it this way, out of all the RPGs I've ever played, this is the only one where I maxed out my experience level to its absolute limit. I think that was the first ending I got myself, or something similar... taking matters into my own hands I find it interesting that you've beaten this one multiple times, though with so many variables the replayability is definitely there. Also I do understand one could mainline the primary campaign and the finish time wouldn't be nearly as long. Someone could probably beat New Vegas in 15-20 hours if they solely focused on the main story line. I'd wager something like 80% of this game's content is entirely optional. But this WRPG was so damned awesome, that I chose to see every square inch of it. New Vegas dethroned the original Fallout as my all time favorite WRPG - I didn't think that'd be possible!
