This is the last classic-style Goemon, I think, and the translators describe it as kind of an homage / greatest hits of the SNES series

I saw some gameplay, I'll say 3D works really well for the mecha battles visually (the rest is 2D).

Tom has been probably the most prolific fan-translator for a few years now, but I don't know if he ever worked for XSEED. He's a different person from Tomato, anyway, who was active back in the day (he translated Mother 3 and others) and then became a professional translator for games and anime.
