ExA ramen/cooking themed Puyo Puyo title has got to be the most Japanese thing ever. Ha, yeah it's definitely an indigenous creation. I've seen a few ramen/curry themed Japanese games from various ages in the past. I've even got one on Vita: I'll admit I don't get the fixation. But I'm not Japanese either so fair enough.

I guess the American version would be something related to burgers and fries or something?

I seem to remember that Gourmet Sentai or one of those SNES games was financed by a ramen company as a marketing thing. This may be the case with some of those other games. Also, Japanese companies are probably the best in the world at exploiting trends, for better or worse. So just like cooking shows and foodie stuff has been very popular in North America for at least a decade now, things like foodie manga and anime have taken off in Japan. It's not a stretch to go from there to video games.

I guess the American version would be something related to burgers and fries or something? Close, but it's hotdogs, according to the Japanese anyway:

Metal Max is a great series. I'm more interested in MM2 since it's a SNES game, but it's still good news.
