I noticed a few bugs have already been worked out, too. There were some smaller issues on initial release, so it sounds like this core is already getting close to perfect. And it's awesome to have, too, as hooking up the 32X is a bit of a chore.

PSX core is live. Not 100% there yet, but seeing it get a public release hopefully means bug reports will help squash the remaining issues.

I feel like Sega 32X is more highly esteemed than it was 15 years ago, which feels weird to me, cause I actually used to own a CIB one with Knuckles Chaotix, Star Wars, Doom, and some others. I simply got bored of it and traded it to a guy on Racketboy for an Atari Flashback II. That would be financially idiotic today, but I just didn't enjoy playing it, and I don't miss it now. The only game that really took things to the next level for me was Virtua Fighter.

Yeah 32X was hardly a powerhouse. I remember not being interested in it at all back when the peripheral originally released. I had a friend at the time who got a 32X and Star Wars Arcade when that all first released. I remember watching him play it and thinking there were better looking, better running 3D space sims on my 486 33mhz. Just didn't impress me. Over the years I emulated most of its games, there ended up being a few exclusives I thought were OK:
Cosmic Carnage Kolibri Metal Head Shadow Squadron Tempo
Notice I said "OK" and not "GOOD" or "GREAT". There are like 6-7/10 range.

I remember emulating it on my Pentium 4 PC back in the day, I just couldn't remember what it was called.

Yeah, the 32X isn't that great. Sure, they could have done more with the hardware, but it was just never a good idea at that point. Now the Sega CD was a more underappreciated system, and has more than enough solid games on it to justify its existence.
By the way, if you have a flaky 32X, it may be the ribbon cables coming loose. I fixed both of mine by just popping them open and reseating them. I occasionally bring them back out, but I'm generally fine with emulating or running via MiSTer at this point. It's quite the rat's nest of wires.
