Mega Man 64 is worth a look as a huge fan of the PSX original? Sounds like the N64 version is best avoided: Most objects that glow, such as Refractors, no longer look bright and glowing and look dark instead.
The voices were downsampled to fit onto the cartridge.
There is analog control, however it's not true analog and it's basically just the D-pad on a stick. It's also oversensitive. I'm not sure if you can still use the D-pad.
SLOWDOWN. This is the biggest problem. Even textboxes suffer from slowdown sometimes.
No CD samples in the Electronics store.
The credits theme is removed and replaced with the Bank theme for some reason.
A lot more fog. The PSX version already has fog, so it's more noticeable here.Source: www.reddit.com/r/Megaman/comments/4atybw/differences_between_mega_man_legends_and_mega_man/Edit: You know you want to play this though:

Hah, yeah that's a sad skip then. Could never get into PC Hexen... but maybe it's more ideal on the N64? Honestly this might fit our current Club Retro, but I think after I wrap up WWF No Mercy and a few modes, I'll give Kirby 64 a look. I put a ton of time into DK64, but yeah, couldn't do it today in full. I hated the color-coded bananas. Just terrible. Hehe... did you enjoy collecting and doing this and that? DO IT FIVE MORE TIMES!!!

I was pretty big on Bomberman 64. I still to this day haven't played anything quite like it. An adventure puzzler/platformer:
I never played the two Hero games, but they look pretty fantastic too. Anyone ever play these?
Dang these OST's go pretty hard!

I was pretty big on Bomberman 64. I still to this day haven't played anything quite like it. An adventure puzzler/platformer: I'll guess nobody here's played these since whenever I bring them up nothing comes of it.
Today I just put an hour and a half into Bomberman 64 and am happy to say, still holds up dang well. It's like if we got some 3D Adventures of Lolo, except with Bomberman and an emphasis on bombing stuff for the puzzles. There's a lot you can do here, from picking up bombs to throw and hit switches, kick them underneath things to boost a platform letting you reach higher ground, use bombs to land on for platform jumping (this is when the puzzles get crazy), etc. There's even legit boss battles. Maybe a lot of people still don't realize this is a true adventure styled game, and not just the arena setup of the older Bomberman games. Hudson-Soft really went for something here and the other two games from what I'm seeing.
It's going by a lot faster than I expected too. I knocked out 3 of 4 main worlds, then there's a 5th final one. And then there's the crazy secret world that I recall being super challenging (puzzle wise). That said, maybe I remember this game and its levels so well from collecting the Gold Cards. 5 per stage, I hope those aren't required for the secret world, but I'm suspecting they are. YEP, just looked it up, you need 100 Gold Cards. Dangit... well maybe I can get enough to unlock these levels. I'd love to play them again. Not even sure if I beat those as a kid.
The music is phenomenal. Also if someone watches this, maybe it's a nice sample of what this game is actually like:
I think I plan to play Bomberman 64: The Second Attack and Bomberman Hero straight after this. The Club Retro this month got me playing N64 stuff again and I'm still going!

Been a long time since I played Bomberman 64. I didn't beat it, but I think my brother did. He was the big Bomberman fan in the household. He also used to play a bunch of Atomic Bomberman on PC. And he was friggin' devious.

I've played quite a few Bomberman games. I don't love them. They tend to be very repetitive, barely any innovation (if any) between sequels (or ports). Solo Bomberman is just boring period. Multiplayer Bomberman is fun for about 15 minutes, then everybody starts to get bored with it. That's been my experience playing various Bomberman games with various people over the years. That said, keep in mind I was talking about traditional Bomberman games. There are series entries that look to be more diverse and better serving towards solo play. I'm not against trying these someday: I haven't played any of those yet. There's also a few racing games: I've played these, they are "OK".

You kind of literally just spelled out a reason to play Bomberman 64, lol. It's different man. Check out the videos or something, I can't recommend it enough. Played a bit more tonight and I'm in the last world now. Not even close to 100 Gold Cards. Wonder if I can Gameshark it to access the secret world...
I don't care about the other Bomberman's at all. Some of those you listed could be cool though if they're also different from the norm. But uh yeah, the 75 Bomberman games like this?
Bomberman 64 is a totally different thing. It does have a multiplayer mode too though, but I think it's just something like that in a 3D space. But yeah, no clue how I had Bomberman 64 back in the day, but I loved it then and now simply for its unique campaign.
Also this dialogue cracked me up, Bomberman 64 is SERIOUS!

My parents rented the Sega Genesis version of Bomberman for me from Blockbuster a few times. It was great. One time I was mashing random passwords into the password entry screen. By sheer luck I got one right and it skipped me several stages ahead. Later I tried repeating this and couldn't do it. Another time my parents hired a babysitter. I showed her Bomberman and she liked it so much that she kept hogging the Sega Genesis and wouldn't let me play. I don't think I ever got around to playing N64 Bomberman, but I remember seeing it at Blockbuster and thinking it must be good, since I really enjoyed the Sega Genesis one.
