Yeah, I'm thinking that might be the best thing to do. I had eventually had a plan to get an FDS RAM adapter, so you finally got me moving on that!

Since this is the "appreciation" thread for the FDS, I wanted to post pictures of something I will acquire someday because I sure do appreciate it: This one is a bit yellowed, but I could retrobright it. Absolutely adorable way to store FDS games. Unfortunately at the rate I'm going, I'd need like three of these, and they're not exactly cheap lol (the one on eBay I can find is over $200 with shipping since it's currently in the UK of all places)

Well, retried the Game Genie chain of doom, and got closer to getting it working, but I think something with the FDSStick won't let it quite work with those Game Genies interfering. It does try to load the game, but just freezes there.
I did get that FC-to-NES adapter wired for expansion audio, however, although I goofed the first time and wired to the wrong pin on the NES side. I was counting from the wrong side, and miscounted with the image I was using for reference, so I thought I was right. (Not a big deal, just ended up on another of the EXP port pins. I had the Famicom side right.)
Anyway, as far as I can tell, the audio balance sounds pretty decent with just the 47K resistor, although I don't have a ton of games to test with. But I do have Just Breed (MMC5), Madara (VRC6), and Lagrange Point (VRC7), so that's a pretty wide gamut of chip styles. I need to look and see if I had any more expansion audio games - I can't remember right now.

Question - why mod the FC-to-NES adapter and not the NES itself for expansion audio? I'm just curious - if you modded the NES, you could use your Everdrive to test any game you wanted (you own an Everdrive for NES, I think, right?). You just want the NES to remain stock?

So this adapter is lame and doesn't actually connect up the pins to pass the expansion audio, so I had to modify it so it would pass through. I did the resistor mod on this system a while back so it would work with the EverDrive, but just hadn't bothered to get the setup working for real carts.

Ahhhhh, okay, that makes perfect sense then. Worth doing for Castlevania III alone, imo, so I get it.

The Famicom 3D system works, and is actually pretty cool: I got a good deal on this set (apparently unused? The plastic protective film is still on the glasses) along with a copy of Mega Man 2 (which I didn't already own). I plugged it in, and not only does it work with my wireless NES controller plug thing, it... works! In general! lol I played a few minutes of Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally, and my Famicom actually looks like a 3D image. It's wild. I don't know how useful it'll be - I really suck at the game, so I barely saw any other cars, I'm not really sure why, but I only played for a few minutes. I'm definitely going to be messing around with it after work though.

Nice! I bet Attack Animal Gakuen would be fun with those.

Nice! I bet Attack Animal Gakuen would be fun with those. If it's supposed to work with them, I will try it tonight! I've never played that so I have no idea haha
