Easiest way to edit down posts I've seen is to just jump to the BBCode tab and do it from there - it acts all weird in the main tab. I feel you on the Crossbell games for sure - I really, really wish those had a better translation. I'm kinda surprised no one has taken a stab at it considering the series is a lot more popular now. I'll weigh in a bit with some choice nuggets, but despite also feeling a little left behind as Kazin intimated, I also found a ton of stuff that I really enjoyed.

Okay, just thought of one that I'm pretty sure never got ported elsewhere: Infinite Undiscovery. And make no mistake, it starts rough. Hacky stealth mission, hacky escort mission, just so many missteps in the opening that I wouldn't be surprised if folks dumped it then and there. But it legit turns into a fun ARPG once you get past the goofy start. Another fantastic ARPG that never ended up elsewhere is The Last Story. Y'all, there hasn't been much that has given me Chrono Trigger/FFVI vibes, but this is one of those games. It deserves a remaster, full stop. Easily the best Operation Rainfall game, and I still like Xenoblade quite a bit. Agree heavily with Ex 's recommendation of Brandish: Dark Revenant. It's splendid. I've used the term "designed rogue-like" before, and I stick by it. It makes the genre much more palatable to me to see actual level design in a game of that style. I'm pretty sure Eternal Sonata also never saw release outside of the PS3/360. I enjoyed this one as well, as a sort of alternative Tales-ish game. Fans of that series should definitely give it a try. I recommend Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom as well. I quite enjoyed all the puzzle-solving in that game, and anyone that enjoys stuff that's a bit like the 3D Zelda games should give it a go.

The Darkness is one of the most interesting and unique shooters of the 7th gen. Strabreeze Studios turned a 90s over-the-top fantasy action comic book into a (mostly) dark, gritty, urban shooter. Very much a game of its time, but unlike most of its peers, the violence and edginess resulted in something memorable.
The PS3 Version should be banned, though. It's awful.

Just to get some clarification, should be also count contemporary PC ports of these games? The 360/PS3 era really saw a huge increase in the number of games that got PC ports on launch or near to it.

Just to get some clarification, should be also count contemporary PC ports of these games? The way I see it, if a console game gets ported to PC, it's no longer an exclusive. So the games I listed are literally exclusives to their respective consoles, and appear nowhere else. (To my knowledge.) There are surely good PC exclusive games that released during the seventh gen era, though.
I feel you on the Crossbell games for sure - I really, really wish those had a better translation. As I mentioned previously, they do...

Whoops, I was thinking of the wrong ones. (Maybe Kazin, too.) It's the Gagharv trilogy that has the junk translations.

No no, I was thinking of the Crossbell games, but as of right now, the only one officially released is Zero on PC/Switch/PS4. Which is great! But Azure is fan translation only until the sequel comes out next year. I still wish I could play them on PSP, I love using that thing.

Ah, gotcha. Well, I'd really like the Gagharv ones to get a retranslation. At some point, I'll nab Zero and Azure - so the fan translation for those is dicey?

Probably worth mentioning - Ninja Gaiden II isn't exclusive to the generation... and yet it is, at least in its original form. The 360 version remains the only non-Sigma version available on any platform, and differs quite a bit from the other releases. There are many (and I think I count myself in this club) that prefer the 360 version to Sigma.

No no, I was thinking of the Crossbell games, but as of right now, the only one officially released is Zero on PC/Switch/PS4. As I mentioned previously, the second game Azure is coming out in 2023. It has been officially licensed by NIS America, and has an impending confirmed release date of March 14th:
That's why I'm not worried about fan translations for the Crossbell games. However... It's the Gagharv trilogy that has the junk translations. No argument there. Those need better translations.
