What tools do you use for that, Sarge? I mean, I doubt I'll ever do it, but it's fascinating to me that people did it!

Ah, I just updated my post on the previous page. Basically, you need an EEPROM programmer to flash the chips. I think there are easier ways to do it these days without destroying a donor cart, though. The EEPROM chips I used were mostly pin-compatible, but not completely, so you have to re-route a couple of signals elsewhere (I pulled up the pins and used wire wrap and solder to get them where they needed to be.

Ah, okay, my bad haha. Fascinating! I don't see myself making my own carts (I'll probably get a repro Earthbound Zero cart eventually, but I'll just buy one online, no interest in making one myself), but I always wondered how it was done.

I suspect it's getting harder to find the right package for those old EEPROMs, so I know a lot of folks are starting to sell board adapters for the surface-mount stuff that's more common. And no worries, I was editing that post and then I saw your post, haha.
Infinite NES Lives used to sell repro supplies, but they're out of stock now. Would definitely like to see them get more in. I do wonder how much of that is impacted not only by the chip shortages, but EverDrives and the like reducing demand for repros?

Closer look at my "backlog" shelf. The hidden treasure is a cart of DQ6 DS inside my DQ4 case. I opted to get a loose cart of that one a year ago or something to try and save some money. Not a good feeling, but ah well I have a copy of the game regardless heh. Some of these PS2 games I played back in the day, but bought them again for a revisit sometime.
Small GC collection. Proud to own those weird Zelda collections: The rare bois: Handheld stuff: Misc:

Xeogred Nice stuff! There's so much PS2 stuff I still need to play, just from these pictures alone. That library is incredible. I played the absolute heck out of those Zelda collections on Gamecube - it was where I first played Zelda II, if you can imagine it (I hate it to this day lol)! I was utterly fascinated by the Master Quest version of Ocarina, and played that several times. Your SNES collection is great - I don't dispute the term, but knowing that Super Metroid and Link to the Past are considered "rare" nowadays still blows my mind lol. What the heck is "Pieces"? Those CIB GBA games are preeeeetty valuable these days, too - I sold my CIB copy of Tactics Ogre to the local game shop and got $150 for it (never could get into that game, and if I ever did want to play it, I have an Everdrive, which is good enough). I bet that CIB Actraiser is worth a bunch, too. Good stuff!

I think the Castlevania GBA Double Pack I have there is really rare now too. I have the cartridges in a little bag separate from those, but yeah maybe I should be extra careful with those cases haha. You can tell it was like the PS2/GBA era and up when I got better at taking care of my stuff. Honestly even as a kid I was very careful with my electronics, but I think my family moving a dozen times growing up, a lot of stuff got beat up in the moves. So I never really blame myself or anything. Guess you're motivating me to get it all up here heh: How much do I love Xenosaga III? Well I have a nice sealed copy just in case the other goes bad.
Newer stuff played or sampled in recent years, thus they're kind of loose from the shelf:
PSX Part 1:
PSX Part 2:
Xbox, I'd love to collect more for it since it's so cheap!

I'm a little bummed OoT Master Quest wasn't like, Ura Zelda or something more truly remixed. I only beat it once. I remember some dungeons being easier and harder than the main release. But yeah it's an interesting piece of weird history, if anything.

I've never heard of "Pieces" and I kinda like the look of it lol. Dat kawaii mermaid.
Those complete GBA carts look so nice. I wasn't into the system when it was current and I mostly just have loose carts from GameStop bins *sigh*. At least they fit in DS cases.
I totally forgot that Lost Vikings II had that awful subtitle.

Xeogred Sealed Xenosaga III? Well, at least you'll be able to put your kids through college with some of this stuff lol. I'd never heard of Pieces, it's *literally* a puzzle game haha. What'd you think of Unlimited Saga? I'm a big fan of the Gameboy SaGa games and Scarlet Grace, but have struggled mightily to get into the Romancing SaGa/SaGa Frontier games. I'd heard Unlimited was considered the nadir of the series, too lol. Is that disc labelled "Sega Sonic CD" a PC version or something? I see Dreamcast games nearby, but I don't think that game was ever released on that? Otherwise, your PSX photo could basically be my wall of shame for having not played most of those supposedly classic RPGs lol
